I would have to say if the old record was 2.75 that equates out to 2 lbs 12 ounces and he caught one that weighs 2 lbs and 15 ounces that equates to 2.95 lbs, then he definitely has the new record

I'm not trying to throw cold water on a great catch just don't know what is up?????? And how can you officially weigh in a fish a day after it's caught? Help me out here, I just need to know in case I get lucky enought to need the info someday.
Again, great fish, great new record!!!!

2.15 means 2 pounds 15 ounces.. 2.75 means around 2 pounds 12 ounces.
as far as weigh in date, how do you figure that affects anything?

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

You can certify a fish up to 3 days after it's caught (on certified "trade scales")... Think of it this way, if you're fishing in a desolate place you might not be able to register the fish within 24 hours, especially if the nearest scales (marina for example) are closed for a few days. If you have a friendly meat market, in your local grocery store(s), they can weigh/witness weighing. ANY certified scales. Might wanna follow the link at the bottom of this post and read fine print, but you used to be able to certify expired scales within so long .... and as long as they passed certification, a record could be weighed on accurate/expired scales.

Most fish species, hunted in Texas, NEED to be weighed before that. If you can't weigh the fish immediately be sure to take all necessary photos while the fish is fresh. If they can't positively identify the species (whether it's black or white) they'll deny the record.

2.15 LBS would be 2lbs 2.4 oz This fish was 2lbs 15 oz (approx 2.93 lbs). Old record was 2.75 lbs or 2lbs 12oz. (or two and three quarter pounds)..

When you convert fish weights don't forget to use 16 (oz) in your equation, most people convert with 10.

Records are displayed in POUNDS ONLY converted from our standard weight measurements of lbs/oz. Easy to understand why so many people get this confused. I learned the hard way when trying to register fish before.

Hope this helps/makes sense....also hope things haven't changed since I last read through everything.

About to upload it on Jigum's website. Will post a link to the product page once it's up.

EDIT: CONGRATS to Matt for his once in a lifetime fish, congrats to Mr. Carroll for another hawg caught on your jigs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that was the first pack of those jigs to hit the water!?
