Tough cold day, 51 boats. We didn't see a single fish caught around us. We only had 2 bites, but quality. I caught a 3.2 over and Jim caught a 6.8 over good for 3rd bb. Our 10 good for 9th and a check. 19 won it with 8 bb. Dillard and Shipe good showing with 13 something.

Really slow out there today. Seems like the fish were really scattered. Caught 'em everywhere but just very little quality.

we had the opposite, caught them nowhere, 2 bites, but over quality. someone in top 5 took airboat upriver. only common element I heard was mainlake points, but I know an Everstart pro who focused on that and didn't get bit. Crazy day ice on rod and reels. at least the wind didn't get out of control like Thursday.

We only caught 3, but 2 of them were over's and the other was a big spot. Cranking battery died before noon and ruined the day.

Caught 7 fish all day. Absolute beating. Awesome tournament though. Scott rocks

[drinking post]I think Barrett, but I don't know if he was participating. I give credit to Brandon & Clay because they did finish 5th out of 51 teams and were thinking out of the box. Real credit goes to the winner who got 19 pounds on an extremely tough day staying on main lake.

Are these tournament anglers anti-social, we only had 3 participants at Big Racks afterwards, but that meant more phone numbers for the single guys. I upheld my promise to buy a round if I cashed a check, but some people dishonored me by buying a round back. Happy hour was good, but made it home before Dubose goes on shift, because I know he would take me in unless I showed my brushpile locations. BTW, I couldn't get bit on brushpiles today.

what was your final weight? 4th, 3rd, or 2nd? I saw your picture, but didn't see any bass or you.

GRAPEVINE, TX

The Bass Pro Shop Grapevine Series kicked-off the 6th season in celebration of the BPS "Spring Fishing Classic" today on Lake Grapevine. A total of (51) boats and (100) anglers competed on a very cold day but that didn't stop some impressive sacks from crossing the stage. BPS Grapevine Series veterans Dave Jaurez and Steve Holtman dominated the field sacking an impressive 19.89 limit which included a 8.07 kicker to take the $1500.00 "trifecta" (1st Place - BIG BASS - Jackpot). Britt Lequie and Derrick Thompson slid into the number two spot with 15.62. Steve Tigert and Scott Pomykal took third with their 14.40 limit. James Adams teamed up with Barrett McClendon to take fourth with 13.09 which was anchored by their 6.92 fatty which also took runner up BIG BASS honors. Rounding out the top-five was Clay Shipe and Brandon Dillard with 13.06.
