Ok about line. Yes I think 4lbs is to lite for barge fishing. But I don't like braid!!! This is my opinion. I will not go in to the best and worst line with y'all right now. But I will let you know what I use. 6lbs tight line by off shore angler. It is 6 bucks for 2155 yards!! I love it. In the last 3 weeks alone I have got over 40 hybrids off of it. I have also got buff and carp with this line up to 13lbs. Just my  Works for me for years I used 6lb test I broke some line records in Canada on tiger musky with 6 lbs test good size. As to braid I am cool if you don't like it you don't like it LOL. I hate the memory that mono has Just my Had to take a poke at you LOL

Update: Crappie: Far. I got about 7 last night. Saw about 25 keepers go out the door. Shallow. Some off the point. Sand bass: Good. Needed a little more wind. But saw a lot go out. Deep and shallow. Hybrids: I got 3. Saw 2 others. I got one at 8pm then one at 4am then 6:45am. Biggest 23" 5.25lbs. All shallow.

Couple of weeks until spring break and all ive been thinking about is getting on the lake I hope they keep biting long enough for me to get some

Hope to see you. Couple of weeks until spring break and all ive been thinking about is getting on the lake I hope they keep biting long enough for me to get some I don't know why they would not hold out that long.

Just FYI, when Mike tells you to head out for hybrids, follow his lead. Lol
@Mike, seen a number if crappie taken after you left plus one guy was owning the outside point while neither myself or DPJ could get any action other than numb hands and faces. Lol he even hooked into a hybrid, but lost it. He simply fished the bottom slow.
