Rob, as you suspect he was trimmed to high and going too fast when he started across and the [censored] end caught air. With the sudden loss of lift, i,e prop out of water, the bow dropped. From there bad chit happens.

Prop bit on re-entry and torqued the back of the boat to the left. He failed to back off the gas when he went airborne. Actually he should have backed off the gas before he hit the wakes. But then the video wouldn't have 3,000,000 views.

About 3 seconds prior to crash the driver ran out of talent.

In the warning it said watchout for suprise waves. Should not be suprised cutting behind a moving boat at 70. Stuff out of the blue can happen but this one could have been avoided with a little common sense.

Prop bite on re-entry had no bearing on the crash. Once the boat went airborne there was absolutely nothing he could have done to save it.

Agree. the boat was out from under him before he went over the first swell.

In the slow motion video the boat is pretty straight until the prop touches the water, and it makes a 90 degree turn before the hull touches water. Which is why he landed sideways. But I could be wrong. He definitely did something stupid I hope I never do again.
