It's so terrible we had a 30+ lb sack this summer. Fish don't die because of lack of grass, but then again they may teach that at A&M these days!

He didn't say anything about the fish dying. He said the lake was tough. Don't knock a college grad if your own reading comprehension isn't any better than that. To the OP, yes the lake is tough without grass. If you can find some brush or ledges in areas leading into spawning flats, you may pick up some fish. I live very close to the lake and still struggle with it at times. You can also go out there and stumble upon some big fish. Don't plan on them being in the same place for 2 days straight either.

What ever happened to people not being so darned uptight all the time and getting their pants in a bunch? Who said we were or were not prefishing? Whats the harm in asking for some information? A crappy fisherman can be sitting on the fish and that wont help him catch any. I was just asking about the lake style, conditions, and what other people have had luck with.

Nobody ever tells me where to fish. I have to put the puzzle together myself.

Fish the east lake. That is where 99% of the tournaments are won. Its March so look for spawning areas and fish the points, secondary points, ledges and drains in those areas. May want to look for beds if it keeps warming up..

I have fished a tourney on Tyler the last three weekends and with the 8 total fish I have weighed in.... I still can't beat Fast lanes 3 fish in the ETBA open. The only info I could give a person is where not to fish this weekend. Stupid lake! I hope it dries up and they make it into a golf course! Of course it probably still couldnt grow grass!

Have not had much luck up in hillcreek this year for some reason. The lake is just getting enough water to be able to get to the back of it, so maybe it will get better. Not sure on the rules about sinking trees, but I saw quite a few folks doing it when the lake was really low a couple years ago...
This place in Willingham Bay is pure brush under the pier and the one that is about 15' out is now totally under water...

With cloud cover and dropping baro pressure, those fish won't be on brush. Cover water, and fish fast!
