but to answer the question, 1 trip to the fishing hole is 1/4 of a tank and i go about twice a week so 100$ a month in gas, plus punchbait costs, 20$ a month. about 1 net every 3 months so 15$ a month. hooks and whatnot, 20$ a month.so about 155$ a month not counting startup costs.

Well I have only been after the blues for about a year now and have already spent around 7500.

A conservative estimate would be about 20k specifically for targeting cats. I've spent more overall but that's about what I spent chasing the kitty dream.

gotta say, i try to make those cast nets go a long way, so i will sit there with a bent hook and fishing twine until i have sown all the holes shut until the patch-work quilt just wont work anymore....lol it also teaches you to do a better job of thinking bout where to throw your net.

As for the question, i dont really get out there too much for trophies, expecially since i fish creeks more than anything and a trophy is bout 10 pounds. I would say i spend on average about $300-$500 making sure i have swivels, hooks weights, floats, bait to catch baitfish, a nice lawn chair, icechest for both fish and for drinks, and whatever else catches my eye when i am at academy or Walmart.

Rod holders 400.00 rods and reels about 25 rod & reels 250.00 a piece.....texas / oklahoma / arkansas yearly license...140.00...insurance 300.00 a year boat only....and 70.00 minimum for each trip made... fish at least 1x per week usually 2 ..not counting terminal tackle or relentless trips for shad & skips

That is not including the boat but the boat is not strictly for catfishing.
