A new to me Boat, gas, cast net, license for 2, line, hooks, swivels, reel cleaning and repair, materials to make noodles. I need to catch more Whisker Fish or I'll be in the hole soon!

I've only been doing it for 1.5 yrs and I've spent roughly $4200+ on gear and gas, and thats bankfishing

kayak,pfd,ligh= 800$ Rod holders(yak)= 100$ Rod n Reel (yak)= 150+/- Rod n Reel(bank)= 300+/- Rod holders(bank) 20$+/- ^^^ONE TIME PURCHASE^^(unless) Castnets 4*year= 55*4 = 220/year Gas(atleast a tank per month) = 60$+/-*12 = 720/year 1400one time cost + 940*year(3)2820+/- 1400+2820=   4220 ROUGHLY Y'sTD 1000 per year

I just stared up bank fishing for cats. With all the start up stuff I would say. 1600 bucks.
Guys don't forget ice, ziplock bags, and stuff like that. I think we need to help them out.

Off the top of my head per year. I bankfish so dont have the big moneypit:
Rods & Reels: $100
Line: $75
Weights: $75
Access Fees: $25 (mostly fish free areas)
Gas For Car: $300 (to get to fishing & baitcatching)
Castnets: $250 (about six per year)
Misc: $100 (barrel swivels, hooks, pliers, etc)
Waders $25 (1 pair every 2 years)
Total: $950
The satisfaction of catching some good ones- Priceless! Six castnets? Good gosh, do you catch your bait in the trees or what? I've used the same net for 3 years..and it cost me $25
You don't always need a boat..
But gosh darn it, sure helps!

Maybe a lot of people use quite a bit of castnets..
I just can't see how someone can use more than 2 castnets in a year unless you are just trying to find them anywhere....and I mean anywhere, in the rocks, stumps, pipes, fences..
Like I said before, I have used the same net for 3 years and it still opens up like new and it cost me $25 at Wal-Mart
You don't always need a boat..
But gosh darn it, sure helps!
