since I have created blasphemy with my worm thread, I thought you young fly guys would appreciate other ways of fishing for brim unconventionally. Uncle Josh makes pork rind baits in all sizes from the tiny fly strip to the larger spin strips, all which are deadly brim and bass baits in the spring. I use the small spin strip and the ultra small fly strip mostly, but I often cut the legs off the larger spin strips and use them. In this pic is a typical rig for brim fishing in the early spring, before they move to the beds. Take a piece of 8-12# mono and tie a perfection knot in each end. Tie one knot, slip it on the hook(I use big eye #8) slip on a small bead, a larger bead, a small propeller (from netcraft) another couple of beads, then tie another perfection knot. Take a small piece of plastic worm and thread on the hook covering the shank. Add a pork strip before you start fishing. They will dry out if left out of the water very long. The plastic worm will keep the pork rind from tangling on the hook while casting. A slow to moderate action fiberglass rod is ideal for tossing these; fast graphite makes for more difficulty in casting a slow open loop Try em; they'l catch fish-p-
