The shallow water bite is really good right now fishing in 4ft or less of water. I have this Friday and Saturday open if anyone is interested. These pics are from Saturday and today.

How many spoonbill a day per person is the limit? I take it that all fish caught snagging are kept?

Does spoonbill taste like a cross between a pelican and a catfish? Seems like it should.

1 fish a day can be kept, except mondays and fridays are catch and release only.

You can keep 1 fish per person all days except no fish may be kept Monday and Friday. You can catch and release all you want, but once a fish is kept you must stop fishing.

Out of curiosity, snagging one of the prehistoric fish with a large treble hook and probably 6 ounces of weighs under it, what is the survival rate of the released fish after hooks have ripped their flesh? Do bacterial infections infest those wounds and kill the fish, like if you drop bass on the carpet of a boat and remove their protective slime?

We've snagged many fish that have a scar(discolor of skin) from previously being snagged...barbless hooks are required.

My trip cancelled and the fishing has been great...so we decided to take our kids fishing on the boat for the first time. They have been tubing/swimming and on bait runs before, but never gotten to fish. It started out a little rough for the kids, but all in all they had a great time. Right off the bat as I was putting the rods out one went down. It was a solid fish and the kids both started crying scared of the big fish. They watched grandpa and daddy catch a few and then decided it wasn't so bad and reeled them in. I even got my son to touch the belly and they both posed for a pic or two. This dad is looking forward to many more trips like this!

The family look great. Looks like the little fellow has out grown his slow start . I still say he will play tackle on his high school football team. Enjoy those kids they don't hang around long. Neat video.Tell the girl her texas grandpa said hi.
