Game wardens/police will confiscate poles and write you a ticket for being ***hole spreading 10 poles and hording the bank, etc., and you have to go to downtown to get your fishing gears back!...

J/K folks! It was just a crazy thought when I saw the behaviors of some bank fishermen, yesterday at a very popular fishing hole. I hope we will never reach that point. Bank fishing is the last frontier for those who like less government/corporation control in our lives, just a chance to get away from it all, and catch some fish, of course. smile Constant policing at fishing holes would be the last thing I'd want.

There must be a way to educate these people to be nice and share these public resources!

The pursuit (where are the fish), rigs design and setup, scouting, the awesome feeling of casting your rigs 100+ yards out, the total focus on the fish and the elements, the outdoors... the total exhaustion at the end of your fishing day,... the cooler full of fish to bring home... Yeah, I'm going to miss bank fishing!

Good luck with that lol. People can be real jerks when it comes to fishing sometimes.

the regulation is already in effect. at state parks and some community lakes there really is a two pole limit.

That's crazy, as if the guy was imagining that he was running trotlines from the bank! LOL!

I've never seen anything like yesterday... I was watching a group of 2 men and a women, fishing with at least 15 poles stretched at least 30 yards of shoreline, but the thing was they only catch fish with only 3 poles in the middle, and the woman was standing by those three poles ready to real in fish (not biggies just some barely legal fish). The two men would cast their lines out straight, except the two poles at the ends, they would intentionally fan cast those out, and always snagged the line people who fished next to them. When their line snagged, they just set their pole in the pole holder and leave them there, it the other anglers who had to deal with the snag. Unbelievable!

There was a good ending to this smile
just before we left, the gent on the left some how managed to cast slanted right out UPWIND and managed to snag 4 of the jerks' lines, and he waded down across their lines to "get" his rigs back, that should have end the feeding frenzy for a while! LOL! We don't know what happened next, we left! LOL!

I remember that guy well, even had a small tent, a battery operated tv a stove to cook his catch, and bells on the rods to alert him of bites while he caught 40 winks.

But he did not interfere with anyone else's fishing. he dropped the bait vertically over the side of the bridge, and the old 66 bridge had plenty of room for everyone

This is starting to become a HUGE problem at public lakes! and it actually is ILLEGAL! Just call a game warden and ask him! I live in the Euless area and have a favorite pond near my house that is part of the Euless parks system. Last spring i walked down to the pond to find an Asian family had taken over the entire fishing dock. they had 12-16 poles for 4 people and were catching and keeping EVERY SINGLE FISH THEY CAUGHT! they had four 5 gallon buckets full of perch & bass. I flipped my lid as we have been trying to manage this pond for a couple of years to improve the fishing! I called the game warden & the parks & rec supervisor. They showed up along with a Euless police officer. They wrote all 4 of them tickets for commercial fishing, fishing without a license and exceeding the limit of one pole per fisherman! Those are city & park rules but the game warden popped them for no license and confiscated all of their rods and tackle as well as releasing all of the fish that were still alive. I totally understand when your fishing for cats but to take over an entire dock with 16 poles is just too much!

Since they are in a community pond, only one pole allowed. But not for lakes and creeks.

Please leave race out of this, there are stupid people everywhere, and US correctional facilities are full of non-Asian convicted criminals. The problem is the behavior of the individuals, not of any particular race.

I have seen all kind of people hording the bank with 16-20 poles wrapping around wind blown points, not to mention the jugliners and trotliners who can place up to 100 hooks in the water and leave 'em there for days, etc... Usually, I just move on,...

I only get to fish once a month if i am lucky and i fish with 15 rods at a time. I will not go to a popular area and take it over. Most of the spots i go to you have to hike into.

Those people prolly don't read the forum,... So I'm throwing my .02 out in hope someone they know would talk to them.

When fishing for schooling sandbass/hybrids, you're better off standing close by your poles to set the hook and reel the fish in quickly,... 5 poles per 3 people are plenty, bait your extra poles ready to cast out when one of you are reeling in the fish, just cast your rig to the same spot where the fish are biting,...

When you horde all the dry ground and people have to go standing in the water to fish,... the school fish are scattered, big fish are gone,... that's why you only caught barely legal dinky fish, yes, the few 18-19" hybrids that you caught were dinky for that lake!

It is nice to know in every group or race, the best fishermen are usually very nice and friendly. They know how to fish and catch more and bigger fish than those desperate and idiotic fisherman wannabe's... On the very same afternoon, in the same lake but in a different spot, there was a gentleman and his wife who fished with just 5 poles, they caught 6 hybrids, 2 of them over 10lb! He even moved one of his poles and let us fish next to him,...
