Can anyone give me a good spot to launch? Away from boat traffic and hopefully protected from the wind.

Thanks Gutcheck! This will be my first time ever out there. Just wanted a place to start. I will probably go RR on sunday since the wind will be out of the southwest.

If you have a State Parks pass just hang it on your mirror and the park rangers will leave you alone

If wind is a concern, you'll need to figure out which way the wind is going to blow and plan accordingly. Also where you're driving from might influence your choice.
Buck Creek is good because you can launch and head east up the creek and never get in the main lake. And you can get a workout running up and down the stairs there!
A little further south is the Jordan launch. You can head south out of there and fish the Sand Branch area. It's more wide open at the launch so wind would be more of a factor but the Sand Branch is more protected.
There's also the Isle du Bois launch south of that but the other two would probably be better.
On the west shore of the that same arm of RR, there is the Johnson Branch launch that would be better protected from a west wind.
On the western arm of RR there's the Pecan launch but I've never been there so I can't speak to it. I think the boaters who launch there run way up to Hwy 922 but that's too far to paddle.

There is a road bed Indian that you can access off of a dead end road. The dead end is off of Harpole Rd. Its about a 20 yard drag from the road to the water but its in the middle of Indian. I have used it a few times and havent had any trouble with where my truck is parked. It looks pretty well used.

Went to ile during bois last week. Wind was ripping from the south so I didn't even bother. Wasn't happy with the area either unless You plan to make a long paddle to the dam. However I did catch one shore fishing the marina rocks with a square bill.

As mentioned, all of the regular boat ramp launches are good - the buck creek one will get you to good fishable stumpy waters going west under the RR bridge. I have fished all over that east arm from all of those dead end roads, long time ago by foot, then with a bass buggy. Now I kayak it. I wore my Raybob map out making notes all over it of "Yes this is a good place, close to water", "No, too far to water, too much brush to walk through", etc. etc. If you have a good Raybob lake map that details all the little dirt roads, then cross compare that to Google Maps. Look for these little dead end turn around spots. Like maziesdad said that Harpole road coming south off of 922 has two potential put in spots. Blanks Road further west use to have an easy put in spot right where the road turns east that puts you into Wolfe creek - real good area (look out for Hobo Man!). Before those two is a little short road called Clover that runs north off 922 that puts you into Isle Du Bois. Just west of the 922 bridge over Indian on the north side is a regularly used put in spot. Find Alexander Road coming north up out of Pilot Point that dead ends into Pilot Point cove. You can get reeeeal close there!! If you don't use the boat ramps, then it basically boils down to how far do you want to carry or drag or cart your stuff. Good Luck!

Thanks for those additional spots benhood. Roberts will be getting in the mood here pretty soon. There are a couple of awesome rock piles just north of that Indian creek drop in that hold fish when the water is still cold. I'll start heading up more regularly in a couple of weeks.

Spent 5 hours on the water and got no action. Don't have my FF installed yet. So I had no idea if I just wasn't on the fish or if they were hunkered down. I really like my new Cuda 12. The seat is comfy!

Where'd you put in and fish. Ray Roberts is pretty stingy until it warms up a bit more.
