I was a proud owner of a humminbird 997 and sold it 2 weeks ago. Purchaced a HDS-10 (Console) and a HDS-7 (Bow). Today was the first day out and all I can say is it's Amazing .. What a difference. I have a few questions.
1. How do I add depth and temp and time on chart screen? All I see is speed.
2. When using TM HDS-7 on bow is the 2D view coming from TM transducer or from the in hull transducer from console unit?
3. How do I select different screens when in a 3 page view. I have structure scan, 2D and map on scrren. Want to toggle to each and adjust.
4. How do I adust screens when I have 2 views showing.
5. Can't select what type of transducer on bow. locked on generic transducer.
Thanks for any info on these..

1. How do I add depth and temp and time on chart screen? All I see is speed. You will have to go in to the Edit Overlay screen and click ADD those put those readings on the screen.
2. When using TM HDS-7 on bow is the 2D view coming from TM transducer or from the in hull transducer from console unit?Go in to your Data Sources screen and expand the Sonar + sign to see the devices listed. Your check marked setting should be HDS7 GEN2 "This Device" That will insure you're reading sonar from the transducer attached to that unit.
3. How do I select different screens when in a 3 page view. I have structure scan, 2D and map on scrren. Want to toggle to each and adjust. Hold down the pages button to scroll from screen to screen. The active window will be outlined in yellow.
4. How do I adust screens when I have 2 views showing. See above. OR If you're wanting to resize the screens, you will adjust screen splits. I don't have a unit in front of me and can't recall the exact buttons but it's in your manual.
5. Can't select what type of transducer on bow. locked on generic transducer. Find the installation menu and set it to PDT-WBL 83/200khz for puck w/temp, HST-WSBL 83/200 for Skimer type transducer w/temp. Generic 83/200 is for universal sonar. Make sure you save the setting when exiting that screen.

Can someone help out an idiot? I have had my boat put up for over two years, now I'm gonna fish and then work sometimes, lol. I have a color Lowrance from 2007 but want to move up to the NEW 7" Elite with GPS, sonar and down scan. Really don't have the money for a BIG un with Sidescan, but I'm not good reading the one I have. Time to spend TIME ON THE WATER LEARNING and reading the threads. I only do Catfish, sandies and Hybrids on Hubbard and Tawakoni. Any feedback on this unit, is it worth it to pick up down scan? Should I wait and save and get sidescan? All help appreciated.

What is the difference in the lss1 and lss2 will the lss1 work with gen 2 units The main difference is physical size. The LSS2 is 10 inches long but beyond that, the LSS2 gives much greater side scan range capability and more detail of images. You can plug an LSS1 transducer in to an LSS2/HD module or Touch screen but in order to get the full HD effect (as Lowrance calls it) you would need the adapter (part # 000-11040-001) Brian

Need some help trouble shooting "no source" on the structure scan on a HDS 10 Gen1.
We have a HDS 10 on the console and an HDS 8 on the bow. One 2D transducer connected to the 10 on the console but the 2d shows on the front HDS8. The 2 units are connected via the LSS1 so I assume we have power to the LSS. Where do I look to find out why the side scan isn't working?
Thanks Red.
Problem solved. Found a fuse blown. Had to cut tie wraps and stand on my head to find it.
