Hi,

I'm really looking hard at a few VIP, Bay stealth boats for my first boat.

The internet though, says that they are out of buisness. Apparently they were bought by Caddo Mfg. in Louisiana, but they are out of buisness too!

Is it a good idea to buy a boat from a defunct manufacturer? What about parts and stuff like that?

Used boats by the way.

A boat from an out of business manufacturer is not necessarily a bad thing, but a boat from an out of business manufacturer that went out of business because they built terrible boats is a bad move. I would run as fast I could away from a VIP made boat.

If the price is right buy it. I have a 2004 19 footer and its solid as a tank I fish All over marshes of New Orleans and even take it out to Venice at times. I didn't pay that much for it but have fished the hell out of it.
