Lol
TFly- I've caught some channels here and there various times of year in the creek...do you think most of those you are talking about are resident or just coming along with the others?

"Troll"??? A little judgemental for not knowing who I am. On the contrary, you getting your jingles off from saying dumb [censored] to someone who just posted the first post?
And I'm the troll...
yep. we have a lot of judgmental types.....

Never posted on here before, but fish pretty regularly at lavon, Hubbard, and my favorite RC. Just got off work and was scouting from Miller to the Bike Park to the HH and then gun range. I almost caused an accident as I was driving over the firewheel pkwy bridge as I saw 2 men with stringers FULL of fish slung over their back. I was literally stopped in the right lane on the main road overlooking the creek, and there were fish BOILING at the surface. I don't think it was a feeding frenzy, as I don't believe the water temps have warmed up enough for the shad to move in. I think it was the males fertilizing the eggs at the surface. I may be wrong about that, but I'm definitely not wrong about all the freakin fish at the surface. Didn't think the last rain brought them that far up yet, and then to be doing that when its 45 degrees outside.
Danny Thats no way could see creek on driving I saw the same boiling as well Monday, check is stream down on rock shallow near bridge; it shall be there in next couple days.

It's okay, I've learned to not get offended too easily...
"But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other cheek also.." Matthew 5:39
Away from all of that, is there anyone who could or possibly want to help a fellow fisherman out? I've truly only caught sandbass on inline spinners, but from what I've read and seen lately at the creek, they're only biting "flukes" or "jigs"...I've got some 3 inch blue crystal flukes that look very similar to an oversized bobby garland, and am using a 6'3 ML Quantum Smoke rod with a Daiwa Steez reel. I have no idea how to jig on the bottom for sandies. I plan on hiring a guide soon, but just need a little pre-advice if any is available. Thank you so much!

Is it just a constant reeling or do I need to be "twitching" when I'm fishing RC?

last season all i fished with was minnows, i got a size 4 hook and put 2 splitshots about 8 inches away from the hook, threw me line upcurrent and kept the slack out of the line with my finger on it to feel bites, but this is with minnows not artificals and plastics, with those you do twitch it but dont completely jerk it cause you want to imitate the bait fish's movement and i fin colors like yellow to work best.

Is it just a constant reeling or do I need to be "twitching" when I'm fishing RC? both works effectively. reeling slowly with no bobber, twitching with bobber. based on my experience, you only need two type of baits for artificial. spinner or tiny fluke.

I use the same method as you. I cast upstream with a minnow under a bobber and let the current take my offering down stream. I leave the bail open so my rig can float downstream. I worked like a charm last year. Reggie

Reggie That's also a good one but imo i had better like with mine because i had heard so many tips to fish the bottom of the creek and the way i had it set up it kept the minnow a couple inches off the bottom which worked amazing, but im gonna try your way and see if it works as good as you say it does!
