In the 70s while living in the NW my old Lamiglas rods seemed pretty darn good. Soon after Gary started up G LOOMIS it seemed like most of the rods in my boat had his name on them. After G LOOMIS sold to Shimano, a rod company began making blanks in Medford Oregon and building rods known as ROGUE RODS. This company started developing specialty Bass rods such as Swim Bait rods. Many West Coast anglers including myself enjoy using these rods. They are light, they are fast, and they are strong.

I am a little disappointed that they discontinue some models every few years, I think they do it so they can eliminate the expediter service on those particular rods, just happened to me on a 400 dollar GLX rod. All they do is change a number or letter on the rod and basically produce the same rod with a different model number.

Your crazy man, as already noted go fish a tactical series which by the way are the ones loomis signed off on not the 99 dollar series. Fish with the taticals and you will be shocked. [/quote]

LOL! Crazy? Possibly, but that is a dicussion for another post! As I thought was referencing earlier, I was only talking about the Signature Series. I was honestly shocked that Gary Loomis allowed his name to be used with the signature series. Just under proforming all the way around. It is true that money really does talk, but I would have assumed he (Gary) wouldn't want his name on a product like that since I don't think he was hurting financially. smile Good discussion guys!
