I have figured out how to provide shade and rain protection for boats(9 ft diameter) that will not impair your fishing. they store easily and fit into your flush deck mounts already on boats for seats. No wires,no cables, just plug them into the mount and raise them up. I have been using mine now for about a year. They come with covers so they won't fly open while running wide open across the lake. I am a professional guide and use abuse them. These are really good and durable. I am working on getting them on the market. pics will be here soon. Anyone interested send me a pm and I will contact you. Thanks www.thecrappieking.com

This one works for my rig. There are several on here that have the same or some variation of this setup.

I use a velcro strap to secure it when moving around but if I'm going to be full throttle, I take it down all together. I'd like to see your setup monster crappie.

There are a lot of umbrella users on this forum. Built some for my boat last year after reading a post here. Easy to build and a great way to beat the heat!

A $5.00 investment plus the cost of umbrella is all it takes to install one. We thought this up about 5 years ago, and it has been great for Hot Summer.

I think y'all invented it, right? I know I made one and still have it. It will be on the new boat this summer.

bobcat I had one on my old skeeter long before they ever did.
I will try and find the pic. after I posted the pic, ernest came out with the one that attached to the seat, then everybody started doing them.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I believe that's correct bobcat. But ain't arguing about it. We ask for 2 months before we had the idea, and no one had a suggestion. All the first time guys never answer a post to help a guy out, but hey. When we picture our umbrella for the 1st time, it took off like wildfire. Ofter the 1st summer, they were on all the lake in force.

Oh okay. Well it don't really matter to me. I do remember Ernest attaching that one to the back of his seat though.

I might buy a little better quality umbrella this year. Last year the wind came up and the umbrella acted like a sail before it flipped up and I was able to pull it down. Nothing wrong with the PVC mount I made up just need a flip resistant umbrella. Thanks to all you guys for posting pics of the PVC mounts!

I think i will be doing that. And i will keep a bungee cord handy to wrap around the Umbrella when its not spread out to keep it secure.

These umbrellas fit firmly and securely into a flush deck mount.I do not have to worry about me or my clients tripping over the PVC brackets, or having to stow the brackets when not in use. They have covers that will hold them in place while running across the lake so that I do not have to take them up and down all day. They have fully adjustable telescoping rods to raise the height to over 7 feet, so that everone can move freely about the entire boat without banging their heads on them. They are very hassel free.

You can also drill a hole and put one of those clip pins in it like in my picture. Gonna take a pretty good wind to take my fat arse into the water by blowing on that umbrella. rolfmao

monster crappie... those sound great. I think what everyone else on this thread including myself means is we have built an inexpensive umbrella holder that suits our needs and works for us. I never have more than one other angler on my boat, we never have a problem tripping over the pvc or banging our heads on umbrellas.

However, yours looks and sounds great. I have as yet found a price for what you are advertising. Would you share that info?
