A big factor in this is the rise in the water levels. The fish have a lot more lake to go to hence why the spreading out. This. The amount of water in the lake gives the fish a mind blowing amount of cover to get in. I was down there in December and I can tell you the water is up and that stuff is super thick. Some of the guys that usually flip mats are not doing so well because the mats are scattered now and not locked down. It will still take 20 plus pounds a day to win I think. Watch out for John Cox. I look for him to move up the leaderboard in the next few days. He is due there.

Just checked out full results. I couldn't get it to pull up for some reason. Looks like Tharp made some adjustments and moved way up. Never count him out on that lake. Cox dropped a few spots but still in the hunt to make it happen. That's the Big O for ya. Anything can happen. That's the thing that separates these guys from the rest. They just keep catching em. Every single day. I guess that is why they can fish for a living. Catching em one day is one thing. But 4 days in a row? That's tough.

Still no 10's after 2 full days. I know, there are 15 lakes in Texas that would produce more 10's prespawn with 175 pros of that caliber over 2 days. To Okee's credit many say most fish already spawned and there have been a bunch of 6-9's.

The big girls spawned during the everstart 2-3 weeks ago. Fla didn't experience prolonged cold fronts so it happened real fast. FYI at it's deepest point the big O is only 16 ft deep (mind boggling). Once cleared the beds are used over and over, year after year...it's the nature of the lake and it's vegetation...the majors just missed it. 20 lbs is a going to be a good bag.

At this point it could easily take over 100 pounds to win. That's whacking em. 10 pounders or not. Not many places that it takes over 100 pounds to win a 4 day tourney.
I'm pulling for Tharp and Cox. Those guys are the both hammers on the Big O.

Greenville, TX angler Rich Dalbey hanging in there at 19th place. I think he has a shot at day 4 if he can bust 19 lbs tomorrow. Either way he rocked it for his first tournament as a Tour Pro. This lake is not in his wheelhouse of the lakes that he is used to. Tough EverStart and practice for Rich but he is a grinder, come tournament time he never stops. One of the most humble people you will ever talk to. Go get em Rich, you got a lot of folks in your corner.
