Awesome fish! and ignore the nitpickers lol, I know you know how to measure a crappie and you sure know how to catch them! 17 inches is 17 inches anyway you measure it forwards or backwards lol

the lake fork record is 17" and 3.19 lbs caught in 1995.I caught the crappie in the picture above on nov.15 2012 not knowing what the record was and we cleaned her. I knew when I posted the picture that I would get the same comments that my friend Stubby got on his. I have read the forum for several years and never posted any pictures but after reading Stubbys post I thought I would post this picture. I fish Fork most every week with my friends Danny aka Slab Daddy, Stubby, Dennis, Larry, Jeff, Ronnie, Mark and Slade. I guess if we were someone that posted all the time, Stubby and I would have got the man "great job or great fish" but i guess for the people that never caught one that size are just haters.Would post a picture of 150 slabs caught by 3 of us on Feb 14 & 15 which this fish was a part of but no since getting slamed on any more post. thank you Jim I just saw this Jim. That is a heck of a fish. I need to come down there and tag along with y'all one day to learn how it's done. Pay ne attention to the haters and keep postin' for us poor old workin' stiffs. It keeps us motivated.

Great fish. I've never been good enough at crappie fishing to catch one that size. I had two buddies in the same year catch 3 pounders out of pines while I was with them. One hit the grease and my other buddy got his mounted.

the other day when stubby made his post...i was one of the..cant speak for everyone, but i assure you...i am a bit of a joker and havent posted much till latley...cause most people dont get it and/or i am not much a writer. But a great (no longer with us) comedian said all jokes are born with the same intention...some get a laugh some dont. So be it. I am almost 100 percent positive thats the first time i post "this thread is worthless" kinda like that guy that doesnt ever clap at the right time lol....but you gotta admit new face pops up, very first post is i got a monster..in this room of hoohaa busters and jokesters like me...we were gonna clown had to know that was coming. What ever these individuals meant...the vast majority of them followed with " welcome to the forum"..or even lead with it. Thats family...we throw real mud at the bass guys (me hiding behind brick wall lol)

Wow Jim, you and your buds are pros! How bout some lessons? I know I'd be beatin my chest and showing that hog off to anyone that would listen to me brag! I fish quite a bit and I've never had a 17"er so I know how hard it is to do. Great job, keep up the posts and pics!

Nice fish Jim! I bet he's going to taste real good at the next Paradise fish fry! Seems like the guys from our group are getting a little more active these days on the forum. If we keep it up we won't be able to find a spot to fish out here on Fork

That is a great crappie! I have caught some like that, but been a few years now though and they have that huge mouth almost take your breath away when they get to the top. I think my largest last year was 16 1/2" caught I believe in June, not totally sure about that month.
Congrats on a really nice crappie!
