I don't have castaway in my signature and would recommend their Skeleton Series over any production rod anyday. Their customer service has always been great even if the rod is out of warranty...I hope the new ownership keeps that up. I now use custom built rods because you can get them for the same price and they are personalized and better in my opinion.

The only association I have with Castaway is I use their rods. I do have some rods from other companies but I continue to buy Castaway rods.

They seem to fit my style of fishing better. And the reel seat they use is in my opinon the best that any production rod uses. I love the exposed blank, it really helps with sensitivity.

Scott at Castaway knows more about rod blanks, actions and the building process then anyone I have ever meet.

We have absolutely no intention of making customer service anything less than our absolute top priority!

The previous owners of CastAway had suffered some pretty difficult financial issues, but never let their customer service slip. While our due diligence took a long time, we were absolutely endeared to this company and their associates the moment we walked through the door. They live and breathe this business and positively glow every time they can help out a customer.

My partner has been in the car business for almost 30 years and owns a Honda dealership that ranks in the top one tenth of one percent of all Honda dealerships in this country (based on customer service). I can honestly say that they really don't do anything that special...just take care of their customers and make sure they go out of their way to make everyone a raving fan. That is the exact same philosophy we use at CastAway.

Castaway...because they have quality products and excellent customer service. I bought one of their $49 rods last summer from Academy and wanted to shorten the handle. Since they are about a mile from my house on Lake Conroe I took it by the office. It was a Saturday and even though they were very busy moving and organizing the shop, they stopped and assisted me. They told me to come back in 30 mins. I did and my rod was ready. As busy as they were they still stopped to take care of my handle on one of their lowest price rods. They gained my loyalty that day and very soon I am going to upgrade to their Skeleton.

Denali Jadewood or Rosewood. Best rods I've ever fished.

CastAway did build some fly rods many, many years ago. I have a few in my office that I'm looking forward to using when I get some free time.

I'll never say never, but it will probably be a pretty good spell if/when we ever get back into that world again!

I remember when you brought that rod in to be cut down! We had only owned the company for a little while and I was pretty amazed when Scott got that rod cut down and finished...he is truly a skilled craftsman!

When I got serious about bass fishing I purchased rods by AllStar, Falcon, and Castaway. I thought all were great. 15 years later I'm still using that Castaway Worm Rod! Hmmh... case closed for me.

My only regret was not buying more!

TxAdam thanks for reminding that Scott did the work. He is a great ambassador for Castaway.
