The con I have found with my cc while bass fishing is the console does get in the way of casting if you have the rods in the side rod holders. You'll have to store the rods some where else. Other than that its perfect for all kinds of fishing

Ok I've confused myself further. There are center consoles, and then there are bay boats right? The sort of boat I should consider is a bay boat correct? Those are the ones that can run shallow and take a wave.

I would get a Deep V Center Console...bay style boats are flatter in the front and can get in shallower water...a flat front will get you wet and will be a rougher ride... I had my 24ft deep V Sea Fox in as little as 12 inches of water...

If you can, get in a CC and a SC. The SC has more usable room. If you are going to do a lot of catfishing with prepared baits, stay away from carpet. A non carpeted bottom can be washed out real quick with a power washer.

We only have room for one boat, and that will be tight as it is.

CC are the perfect boats for our family! We pull kiddos around in the summer "tubing", Use it for every type of fishing (Catfishing, Crappie, Hybrid/Striper, take it 30 miles off shore at Port O'connor and "yes", even Bass Fishing ) We run 24' CC Skeeters. Love my boat Hi thanks for the reply, I looked at the skeeter 24's and I noticed they seem to sit lower in the water than other center consoles. I guess that is a matter of the hull type? Those aren't deep v's then? The advice I'm getting is to go with a deep vee for comfort and dryness. When I search for those two items, cc and deep v, I always end up at saltwater boat web pages, is that where I am supposed to be lol? I'd love to see pics btw of the boats you all are talking about if possible thanks!

The deep v will be cumbersome when it comes to water sports... longer to plane off, deep hole, big wake. Also, if your going o put a trolling motor on it, the shaft will be extended to its longest all the time. The bay boat would be my choice, as I do all that you want to do with my 21' NauticStar CC. Wasn't planning on using it for tubing, skiing and wakeboarding, but it happened and it works fine (should get a mirror to be legal). Mine has a jack plate and tunnel like the Blazer in your link, which is nice when I need to get shallow or load in or out with the lake levels down. The downside of the tunnel is that it wont turn on a dime.

DanD14,
The Blazer didnt say it had a tunnel, I wouldn't venture to argue with you but are you sure about that?
Another question, how does your Bay Boat (I assume the Nautic Star is a bay boat?) handle rough weather.
As a very new boater I want to give myself every advantage in case of sudden chop. I realize that it probbably has a lot to do with how you operate your boat, but a forgiving vessel couldn't hurt.
Thanks

Any thoughts on xpress boats? They are easily in my price range and look pretty solid. I'm thinking the H20 or the 22 ft version of the same.
