Pretty cool. Are they edible? From watching Alaskan state troopers they are, but they also eat everything so I dont know...That is a monster would be fun to catch Congrats.

They are a zoo plankton eater only. They filter feed so they don't eat trash. They are excellent on the grill!! No bones at all in them!

Very nice. But that is one weird looking fish. How do you catch them?

Very nice. But that is one weird looking fish. How do you catch them? Russ Have to snag them - won't take any kind of bait or lure. That's one fine spoonbill, a lot bigger than anything I've ever got. Hope it's back in & growing.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

Do you catch and release those spoons most of the time? Are they plentiful but just hard to catch? They look like a cross between a catfish and a shark
