We caught a full grown otter (drowned) once in a fish trap. Caught an eleven foot alligator (also drowned) in a trap of the same type.

5 pound gizzard shad in the Houston Ship Channel in a gill net.

Plecostomus a plenty in the same traps in the ship channel.

Bigmouth Sleeper out of its range, another ship channel, electrofishing catch.

One of the weirdest, a small fish called a "Pirate Perch." Old fish biologist joke....hand a pirate perch to the new guy and ask him to find its anus....look it up.

Back during my bass fishing days, I was at Fork, casting a buzz bait next to a submerged log. The state and possibly world record largemouth bass hit that lure and the fight was on. Then the strangest thing occurred. That world record bass turned into a grinnel.

Bullfrogs in mats with a zoom trick worm. They like em.

Seagulls on both fly and conventional gear. A merganser duck on an ultralight rod. The gulls were weak but that duck put up one @/$ of a fight. Came close to spooling me.

I caught a very dead 10 inch shad out of Rowlett creek. The strange thing is I hook it right in the mouth with a minnow.
