I heard from a reliable source this past weekend that triton was going out of business. Has any one else heard this or know anything about it?

I think the owners would attempt a sale first.

Weren't they part of that big deal with Brunswick/Ranger a few years back? If that actually materialized then they aren't going out of business but rather being fazed out of production. That is if all that other carp went down a few years back.

Triton was purchased by Fishing Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of Platinum Equity and they are being manufactured at the Ranger Plant in Flippin AR. (Stratos also)

Not sure how they would go out of business that way. I dont know if the information is incorrect or not. A possibility is that they might be discontinuing the brand but as long as Ranger is around they still should be able to service the boats.

When I was there, there seemed to be enough volume to keep that line going though.

I may be wrong, but at the lakes here in Texas, Triton seems to be the most popular brand on the water?

No you have it all wrong, they are going to blend all three brands: Stratos, Triton, and Ranger.
