Anyway you cut it it is an awsome fish and the fellow caught it legally and did nothinh illegal afterwards so why all the crying. By the way I have bass fished for 65 years and never used live bait so I am not a live bait fisherman sticking up for the guy but if he fishes live bait so be it.

I know I'm going to start live baiting them. Especially when I fish with alot of young ones. The old bobber or bait on the works. it'll work when you can't get bit. Worm or big shiners under float at fork for a kid could get intertesting. Where i'm from every year a kid catches a big smallmouth over 6 on a tuffy minnow fishing for crappie or a big striper. Everyboby should be happy that fish like that and bigger live in Fork. Anyboby has a chance to catch a bank fisherman , a little kid fishing a tuffy minnow under a float. That's what makes Fork so great

If you, continue,to take the largest fish out of a lake, with the only, demonstrated, ability to produce a state record, then, your chances at a new state record at Fork go down.

That fish had the same genetics when it weighed 1/2 pound. All fish need to be taken care of. This! Stop killing the tournament fish! Long live live bait! Congests to the man!

My point is he did nothing illegal he bought his license like you did and most likely payed more for his than I payed for mine. We had this hassel years ago and that is all it turned out to be not a thing was accomplished. By the way there even guides on the lake that are live bait fishermen.

I think we are all jealous of this giant fish. That is why we go to fork to catch a donkey. Regardless I'm happy for him no matter how he caught it. Good job

Update on 16 pound fish- what is really sad about this whole situation is the fact that a 16 pound fish was caught from 29 feet of water and the guy didnt no how to fizz it!!! So the fish had to struggle for 2 hours while waiting on TPWD to get there and fizz her. But the most sad part is then the fish had to go on a 2 1/2 hour ride in the back of a truck with a built in live well!! Just bc these people want her offspring for other Texas lakes...I'm pretty sure that fish will die...i know if I ever catch one that big it will be measured and weighed and then released, bc that's the only way they will ever get up to 21-22 pounds

Did you read the transcript? Lol. Raise the slot,on Fork,to 29". Let's call it "Operation FZ1 New State Record Program".It's free and you boys will thank me in a few years.
