Congrats on a great fish Uncle Richard! I can't wait to hear the story from you. I'll call when I get back home and you will have to take me to your new honey hole.
Lot of skill required to catch one that way. Lol. That fish is gonna die. If he,really, wanted others to have a better chance,at a big fish,he wouldn't be using live bait and killing that fish and all her offspring, forever.
If you're going to be a "hater", at least have some command with the proper use of comma placement in your sentence structure.
When you have time, feel free to post up all the pics of your 13+ pound bass that were released upon catch and not donated or disturbed by being brought into a place to have them weighed on certified scales.
The man caught lightning in a bottle, a once in a lifetime fish,...............legally.
The next time you hook a 15 pounder on a minnow when crappie fishing, cut the line and spare us the embarrasing details. Good grief.

Guys...The man had a fish of lifetime! Lets not turn this into a "live bait" debate...Great fish, regardless of what he caught it on!

Not a "hater". I don't like the way the fish was caught, and killed. FYI,I,immediately, released my 28/22 back into Fork,so,guys, like you, could have a chance.

You know, I try to stay out of these debates.
But here goes.
I don't use live bait. I'm a catch and release fisherman.
But what this angler did was perfectly legal and perfectly ethical. Heck, whether I like it or not, if he had wanted to fry this bass up, that's his perogative under the law. And it's that Texas law (regulations) - not to mention TPWD and its programs - that has helped produce a state with arguably the best bass fishing in the nation.
So give this guy a break for gosh sakes. And don't tell me that you're a catch and release guy and you don't hurt the resource and blah-blah-blah. How many of the fish that we release eventually die...even if we're not around to see it.
My two cents worth.
Congrats on the fish of a lifetime!

The person has the right to do as he wishes with the fish and didn't break any laws while fishing, or after the catch. It was his choice and that is all that matters.

You get the lifetime only if you submit the largest SAL of the calendar year.

i always thought using live bait at fork would get one tar and feathered or beat up? Least back in the 90s it would, have things changed there?
