I have the older "rocket" but have ridden in the new hull designs and they are completely different. They are not only more stable at top end, handle rough water better, but they are dryer too.

Any boat will spin around or chime walk if not setup right. I've driven all the boats and tritons do walk but they weren't setup right either. I fish out of a 98 Triton tr21 which is a lot lighter boat then the newer hulls. Owner couldn't get to stop walking until I played with it and adj motor

i owned an 02 tr-21/250 pro XB. It was an 80 mph boat. And yes it did require some driver input. But after some seat time it was as if it didnt exist. BUT when you let someone else drive it will scare the [censored] out of you. Its all a balancing act, and when you learn to balance it up on the pad then it will level out for you.

I have an 02 TR20 "rocket" and had to get use to the top end input. The guys at H&W Marine helped me with a 15 minute training on the water in my boat. I don't even think about it now. The great part was, I did not even buy the boat from them.
Love my Triton

I've got a 1997 Triton (first year they started making fiberglass boats) and it's been fantastic. My dad bought it new and he sold it to me a few years ago. Never had a problem with the boat at all and never had a major problem with the motor (Evinrude Intruder).

I have a 2008 20X2 - 250 PRO XS. It's a mid 70's boat and handles alal kinds of conditions better than any boat I have been in. As others have said - fast and stable.

I run a 08 21X HP, it walked pretty good when I got it, I tried a lot of different props, I finally put a 25 fury that Mark Croxton has work and it handles great, it will still walk just a little but it will run 80mph with just me in the the boat so its going to walk a little, but with 2 guys running up the lake at 70mph it drives great, it's all in the setup

Alright well sounds like the boats are not as bad as everyone makes them.out to be. Do they have a forum like basscat does?

They probably do have a forum. I would look over at Bass
Boat Central. All bass boats have a "dry ride", ha ha unless they don't. What I mean is any low profile boat is gonna get ya wet at times based on driver experience and wind conditions. No one can "drive thru" chinewalk. A finely tuned dialed in hull and outboard will be able to minimize this to some extent but to maximize performance you want the boat on the "pad and nothing else during optimal conditions. During these times the boat will fall to one side a bit as a result of prop torque. Of course when conditions are less than optimal a person would want a tad bit more of the hull in the water and at that point there should be no chinewalk. Tritons are great fishing and running boats. I haven't been in any new ones but the last few yrs models are great boats all the way around.
