I keep my new boat (2012 BassCat Cougar AE) on a floating lift, in a pretty good size marina. A couple of weeks ago I discovered that my boat has been invaded by a mink. This filthy vermin turned one of the carpeted dry storage compartments into his bathroom, and it smells about like you would imagine it would! He's gained access through the rod-butt holes on the passenger side and comes and goes as he wishes.
I put about a dozen mothballs into each of the carpeted storage compartments (rod box) and left for the week. When I got back to the lake Saturday I found that the mothballs didn't affect him at all. The poop pile was larger than before! Next, I sprayed some fox urine heavily throughout the carpeted compartments and on the lower deck. I hope that I'll find him gone next Saturday. If he's still there what should I do next???? He's ruining my beautiful boat!
Help?

Sounds like the boat needs to be taken out of the slip for an intense cleaning and allowed to air out. I would have tried trapping and relocating the varmint before adding more stench (fox urine)to get embedded into the carpet. Get a warm day you may not be able to stay in the boat due to the smell!

I have mice living in mine. I have had to rewire my graphs. I have been setting traps, next I am getting some mice bait.
It may stink for a while, but I got to get rid of them.

Good luck with your mink!

This. You can pick up a live trap at any tractor supply.

Or buy a snake

How big is the hole? I would try to get some wire mesh to cover that hole or pack it with steel wool. Those vermins teeth don't like chewing on that stuff.

For mice issues the molt balls work well just use a box in the boat scattered out through out the boat.

I just wouldn't like my boat/gear smelling like an old lady. Trap it and get rid of it.

Wad up a bunch of newspaper in the rod box. For some reason this really absorbs odor real well. Also put in some onions cut in half. That will absorb any bateria that the feces leaves behind. You will see how black the onions turn in a day.

Down here in hurricane country when all the freezers went out during evacuations what we found best to get rid of smell was a thin layer of baking soda on the carpet, then pour a couple of bags of charcoal on top of that.
