I wish I had payed attention to this post yesterday. today was my first time ever going up river so I paddled to the markers but didnt see how i was going to get in the creek. I saw little duck boat go into the mouth of the river so i dragged the yak a few hundred yards launched then paddled right back to the short cut. I learned and awful lot today at the expense of my time and money.

Me and the boys will be headed up the creek Saturday morning from the Nails Creek Park boat ramp. If anyone want to follow us up the creek that will be fine by me.. wear waders or tall boots to drag your boat across the shallows to the shortcut.

That was one of your best videos yet. I really enjoyed the wildlife and trail markers.

Thanks for the excellent report.

Sam.. it was good to see you on the Yegua.. Enjoyed the day fishing with you and my boys.. We ended up with about 25 whitebass, 1 crappie and 1 catfish. Left Nails creek park after cleaning the fish at about 4:30. Compared to last year when we kayaked the creek today was a piece of cake!

Lots of fisherman on the Yegua today. I saw about a dozen kayakers and several more in john boats. It's a little tougher to get the john boats into the creek but today demonstrated that it can be done! Most everyone caught some fish and I heard two reports of limits being caught earlier in the week. All but one of the whitebass we caught and kept were males. The lone female was slim compared to the bigger males.
