He did. He just didn't say I apologize. I don't often agree with him but he is right. If I'm going to spend 250 or more for a technic specific rod it better work. I own an 805 cb rm and chunked a 6xd for 7 hours saturday and if the 10xd or 30+ pulls much harder then its not the rod for that bait imo. When the 805 cb rm was built they had no idea a crank that weighs close to 2 ounces was coming out.

I've thrown the 30+ and it sucks! About breaks your wrist, way more pull on it than a 6xd.

I've thrown Mann's 30+ and dd22 on my Denali 7' 11" custom cranking rod is the 953cb and shows 1oz max but ....I can throw the cranks I mentioned effortlessly and is by far the best deep cranker I've used..I'll get a 10xd and report back...I'm confident it will handle it but don't quote me Chris..I'll buy one like I said and see for sure.

I would strongly suggest the Okuma evx crankbait rod. It's got alot if power and can chunk a 10XD, manns 30+ with no problem what so ever.

Suck it up Nancy's. I could use my sons batman pole and never get tired. No doubt I'm a "nancy", I quit even trying to crank the thing and just started sweeping the rod. Heck honestly I have given up even throwing those baits now, my elbows are in too bad of shape for that punishment.

I would suggest the Dobyns 805cbrm. Or else have Ron at Reel Time Rods make you one of his deep cranking rods.

chris- have you thought about calling dobyns, kistler, powertackle, etc to speak with someone about it? Last time my buddy called dobyns, Gary picked up and chatted up a storm with him. And my experience has been that Trey's dad answers the phone quite a bit at kistler. And if anybody would know about what rod would be designed to handle that beast the best, you can bet Tim and Judy @ powertackle have thought about it already and may have something in the works.
I called I-rod and once before and matt newman picked up and was very helpful. Guys on here KNOW their stuff (seems like), but these rod builders and pro end users make a living with them. that would be my route. What about these umbrella rods you see everywhere on the web?

I've got a Mojo Bass Swimbait rod that I throw my Arig with. When my XD10s get here, I'll probably use it. Lord knows I don't want to break my Power Tackle rods trying to heave that thing!

If you didn't live so far I'd let you make a few casts with my Loomis deep cranking rod it's a 7 11 and feels good as any IMO.

I've got a W&M Clunn 7'8" reaction series rod. Honestly, it's heavy and ugly, but it does the work fine and they're only $64.99 at Tackle Warehouse.
