If there is plenty of notice I can make plans to be there. I have a regular super job with a fixed schedule. Still part time it also but can get the day off in good notice. Love the idea about Dunlap however finding a place maybe difficult.

Jerry I wonder if its advantageus to fing a spot where bank fisherman can participate. Are Dunlap and fairfield the best choices or anothe. Some of us have yaks, so that make sit easier...

I'd vote for LBL or Lake Austin myself. They are mid-state, at least more so than Dunlap. And, parking at Dunlap can be a challenge. Additionally there is very limited bank fishing on Dunlap - you really need a boat or have access to docks like BAF.

Hows about lake Whitney or lake waco?
Its not about how deep you can fish but by how you wiggle your worm

They have had two events over the last two years and both turned out OK. Comanche Park and Boerne Lake. I was unable to attend either one. Now that I am retired and only working part time I should get the time to attend the next one. Would love to put faces with names. Hopefully you will get some good replies.

I really wanted to make Boerne but couldn't make it. Boerne would still be my choice if I had a vote.

I don't mean this to sound like a stupid question, but what is "central" for most of this group???

Pop1655 Well, for those of us in north Texas, San antonio or Austin can be a bit far 3 1/2 -5 hour drives depending upon locale. If you use Waco as a central point and fan out from there, you're gonna get more interest. This would still be close enough for guys in Austin/ San Antonio to drive up in reasonable distance as well. And who knows we might find a good location that some members haven't fished...

Les I have to agree. A central locale would bring in more participation. I always used to see some great reports from Belton! Never fished there, but it looks like a great lake. Of course, I'll proabably still be over here by the time yall hold this thing. Won't be back state side till June. Raven has some GREAT bream from the bank if you get there before the vegetation takes over.

Fairfield has some great facilities...but who knows about the 'gills. I'd be interested in finding out if the 'gills have recovered, as I suspect they have, partially at least.
