Also, the "hard copy" calendars were finally finished on my end 2:30 AM Tuesday. Dropped off the CD & instructions with Adam & he worked his tech magic. Adam got me the first copy Wednesday to check out. It's a "Go". And the "Flat Wall Spread" as well in a few sizes. However, he is working on the "mini-cals" now. Hopefully I will have all the info & prices by Thursday PM or Friday PM.

I even added a page of Catfish Calendar testimonies in this edition. If they have not publicly stated it, then I left the person anonymous & edited out any clues as to their identity.

With the "Hard Copy", you can map out your best trips for 2013 thru the end of December. I added two pages of the mini 2012 months for Retrospect. To boot, there are 3 Rod-n-Reel Records featured in this edition.

It has been a very long previous weekend & Sunday & Monday nights went on until about 2:30 AM. But I finally finished the Calendar up. Then had to really work late up at the shop the next few nights, so it has been very tiresome & non-stop.


"Lynn's Catfish Calendar 2012/2013 Memorial Tribute Edition":

The time has finally come. YES, you can now map out the rest of the 2013 Calendar year for your best Catfish or Gator Gar trips. One bountiful trip will more than pay for a calendar's cost. Catfish filets go for $2.99 to $5.99 in the store and they don't taste anywhere near the real deal. Or maybe you are heading out for a great day of Catch & Release aka CPR. Wouldn't it be great to increase your catches?

You don't even have to believe in the Catfish Calendar to have a picture & story submitted. This year's edition has 5 months of rod-n-reel catch & releases, of which 3 are Texas water body records. One of those 3 is very special as they achieved top honors & then some! I want to thank everyone who has contributed to make this a very memorable edition & pay tribute to each & every one of you!

All versions of the Catfish Calendar get numbered, for being a "collectible" down the road. Previous editions are available and are also numbered as well.

1) The "Hard Copy" is now available. It comes with Cover photos, 2 pages of Info, 2 pages of the 2012 retrospect (2012) months (Catfish Calendar) in mini (3x5) format, the 12 months of 2013 (Catfish Calendar months, as well as monthly pics & stories), and 1 page of some Catfish Calendar Testimonies (I have left them anonymous & edited identifiers), along with the Revised Calendar KEY. The cost is $13.50 each. If you need it shipped to you, add $2.50 for a total of $16.


2) The 18x24 LF COLOR Matte (glossy) "Flat Wall Spread" 2013 Calendar is finally ready for release. It only has the 2013 Calendar months, along with the Hard Copy's Cover pics. But it does not include Info pages, the 2012 Retrospect mini-calendars, the Testimony page, or the monthly story & pics as in the Hard Copy. Its cost is $20.00 & I won't know how much until next week for shipping until I get an 18"+ tube & mail one. So for total, if shipped, I will let you know as soon as I can. I am unable to control the cost of this color calendar, as it has to do with being high because of color & the large machine that prints it.

I will also send a printed separate copy listing what I call the "Underlying Pattern" or the "Hidden" YC Days. Perhaps I will try to incorporate them directly in the Hard Copy & Flat Wall Spread for 2014. You can circle or highlight those days, or keep the list handy.

OK, here are the Extras available:

3) The "Mini-cals" are back for the 2013 Calendar months. We can do a 2012 version should you request one or some. We have come up with an inexpensive version, same as the 2011 ones. They are with Black ink, have the cover pics like the Hard Copy. They the bare basics & on the other side of the Cover is the Revised Calendar Key. Then just the basic 12 Catfish Calendar months. They do have 2 or 3 blank pages for you to jot notes down after December month. They are about 4.75"w x 2.75"t (smaller than a 3x5 index card). These are "mini-cals" are designed to be very affordable. They are for carrying in your shirt pocket, hip pocket, daily planner, fanny pack, glove box, or whatever. They are for on the go, so you do not have to damage your collectible by taking it everywhere. You can also get some to pass on to your Catfishin' buddies. They have a clear vinyl cover, but are folded & have 2 staples. The paper has a slight gloss. They are durable, but can be messed up if gotten wet & so on. But at $1.00 each (includes postage regardless if you get them personally or shipped to you), they can be replaced easily at a low cost. I have done these on a cost average. I'm hoping that works out best across the board.


And there are two more versions of the "Flat Wall Spread" calendars (items included on these were listed up in the 18x24 Color version):

4) The 18x24 Black (ink) "Flat Wall Spread" 20# bond is a bargain at $2.50 & once again, I have to check on 18"+ tubes & postal cost to get a total with shipping. See what a difference in price that color, the paper stock & the big machine makes.

5) The 11x17 COLOR 12 pt. (Glossy) is smaller and is done on a much smaller machine, so the price difference is huge. They are $2.00 each & I will have to check out the price of smaller shipping tubes (11"+) & postage to know of the total price with shipping.


I & Adam at OfficeMax's ImPress (Print Center) have done our best to keep prices down for the Catfish Calendars. Did you know that OfficeMax has been named one of the 2012's World's Most Ethical Companies? I recall checking with a Print Shop in 2009 thinking they would be cheaper. Boy, was I wrong.

Just got one testimony in tonight for the 2013 Calendar (it will be listed in 2014 Calendar)-
"thanx so much for the calendar and the info it provides I feel like i have an unfair advantage!"


In case I failed to mention it, I try to incorporate at least one extra item per year on the Catfish Calendar. You know what they say, just take it one step at a time. In addition, I try to tweak the Calendar & its use. So as new research is done & found, be it with me or others or you, it adds to get the maximum from the Calendar's benefits.

In 2009, with encouragement from Jeff & James (JS), I finally took the leap into making a full size printed "Hard Copy" version of the Catfish Calendar. It had a mini catfish calendar up with monthly stories & pics on the page above & utilized OfficeMax's 2009 standard calendar page below.

In 2010, I managed to create (set up) the monthly Catfish Calendar from a print program. And that made more room for pics or stories up above without a mini version of the Catfish Calendar placed there.

In 2011, we came up with the "Mini-Cal", a small B&W basic pocket version that was cheap. You could take it everywhere, even jot a few notes down. Choose fishing dates & trips with your buddies while out fishing. In the event of bad weather or mishaps, it could be replaced easily & inexpensive. It had the basic Catfish calendar & the Key.

In 2012, I hit serious health issues, but I still managed to share the RTF calendars. Thanks for all your Prayers & Thoughts & Encouragement! I recall a relapse the first week in February to which I felt I just did not want to go thru another round of it. Some of you helped me to turn my focus elsewhere, such as on the Calendar, catfishing, or something else. So I managed to get thru it too. In fact, I used research & observations similar to some angles of the calendar in order to find what things caused me to get worse with my health, and once identified, how to bypass or alter them. Plus both mine & my uncle's Pickups went down. His blew a head gasket. I have not pulled my motor yet & disassembled it yet to see what the damage is, but I know one spark plug (#8) was smashed. Water raised the oil level on the stick by a few inches. So I have a feeling I have one bad smacked piston & perhaps a ruptured cylindar wall or cracked block. It won't be pretty, that's for sure.

In 2013, we finally succeeded in the "Flat" version. I wanted a clear & easily read version of the Catfish Calendar, the numbered dates, along with their Catfish Codes. It allows you to easily took at all 12 months for you to plan your trips, in case you were caught between two months. It saves time from flipping back & forth of the "Hard Copy". I also revised the Calendar Key by adding two more tips. These tips have come into focus the past few years since 2008 with input from Jeff, James (JS), and myself. And I have to include my catfishing partner, my Uncle James (JW). He has been a big help. And always innovative on improvements across the board.

In 2014, I plan to incorporate what I now have decided to call them- "Lynn's Prime YellowCat" Days, which is the underlying pattern of YellowCats or what I have also called or referred to as the Hidden YellowCat Days. These numbered dates will be circled somehow so I do not have list separate. Yet for the RTF versions, it will still be needed. And for a qwik listing as it will still be handy. But at least on the printed versions, they will be recognizable up front.

Also, the new bait shop [the "Tack'L Box"] across the street now has a small selection of printed versions of the 2013 calendar for sale (not sure of their selling price).

And my Uncle (JW) is hoping to set up the Catfish Calendar website & also set them up on E-Bay. I have had the site for 2 years but no time to do anything with it.

And I just got in the last of some "goodies" from Running Branch & also The Fish Net Company, such as SS J-Swivels, SS 4/0 crane swivels, and more hooks. So I guess you know what time it is. It's time for more research. My target & hope is to have everything in place to hit the waters of Lake Limestone at Running Branch for April 26/27/28 YC/BC/BC then again the next weekend May 3/4/5/6 (BFT/YC/YC/YC). I am betting you see the strategy of that one. As the first weekend I will be setting lines out, but have a better chance at BCs once I get them out. And the next weekend, I have them already in place & ready for YC across the board & hopefully some BCs too. Ain't the Catfish Calendar great to target your best times to hit?

Towards the end of 2010/2011 season, before the lake got super low, I finally got the last coordinate I needed to map out the path of "the Giant" (an Op I estimate that will be well over 100+). But then the drought took over for the rest of 2011. As the area it was in, was about 8 to 11 feet deep, I am sure it had to flee as the lake was down by 10' during my feeble attempts at a T-Day Trip in November 2011. Hopefully, it has moved back in & is comfortable. I have mapped out my plan (strategy). My only flaw is that I will be starting off with my sister's Porta-Bote since my truck & my Uncle's (JW) truck is also down. So if you are near RB & see a pale yellow vinyl Porta-Bote go flying by, it may be because we caught IT. Or maybe IT caught us. I also know not to trust 3/0 3-way Brass Swivels, as IT has snapped one of them off back in the 2010/2011 season. So far, the 3/0 Brass Barrel Swivels have survived OK.

If I decide to set out a "Planter" this year (since it is late in the season), it will be over near where I took a swim on T-Day 2011. It seems that Yellows are running a path coming out of a creek (or going into it) and there was still water there during the drought (10 feet low). We have caught some nice Blues as well just out from there, the biggest at 33.6#.

The 4 code key days of my Catfish Calendar are noted in the Calendar Key. I will post the Revised Key down below.

Some fishing calendars have 4, some have 5, and I forget if I ran into one that might have only had 3. Then they also give a brief on what their code keys stand for.

Here is a little more info for everybody concerning my 4 code key days that people may want to snip & save. It is a brief & scrapes the surface though. After the briefs, I will share a little more which should help even further.

YC = stands for YellowCat:
The strongest that hits this given day are Yellows. Blues also tend to hit good on these days.

BC = stands for BlueCat:
The strongest that hits on this given day are Blues. You can rack them up on these days.

BFT = Buffet:
This a the strongest day for what I call "a variety platter" (sort of a buffet), meaning a mix of fish biting. For me, on my set lines, for some reason I might catch anything ranging from Channels, Blues, Yellows, Bass, Crappie, Gasper Goo, Grenalds (Bowfin), and the list goes on. Of course on set lines, you can only keep catfish & non-game fish.

ZIP = ZIP
This means the strongest day for you to have the worst in catching potentials. It means you basically won't catch squat or it won't be a very good day. In other words, most will find their catch & even the fish biting is down by extreme amounts.

In further defining these (not brief)...

The Calendar presents the strongest of these 4 code keys for that given day, which consists of 24 hours. My Catfish Calendar days basically are Midnight to Midnight. TP&W also uses Midnight to Midnight to define their Daily Bag Limit slot.

On the YC days of the Catfish Calendar, most coincide right on the money with a fixed pattern in the background. I found this pattern in 1980 & 1981 as I was working in the oilfield for The Western Company. I had already been taught previously by tweo YellowCat teachers as to YellowCat info, but I was not catching any afterwards. On my days off, which were patterned, I eventually started catching Yellows, and it became consistent. It was 7/2/7/2/7/3 then repeat, the 2/2/3 being the days off & which Yellows seemed to be on a course or pattern with. And in Stimulation had there 3 day weekend as Fri/Sat/Sun. But I was in the Cement division, which had the 3 day weekend of Sat/Sun/Mon. Enough so, I eventually expected to at least get one YellowCat per round. I would bait my set lines one day, then go the next day to check them. Unless of course I had other chores & would skip that round. After awhile, due to consistency, I realized maybe I had stumbled onto something. Perhaps fish ran certain feeding cycles for each species. So I mapped out my plan & prepared for the rest of 1982 into March 1983. And I executed my first phase of the Catfish Calendar using the Trinity River as the location. I had been using mainly the Navasota & Brazos Rivers in 1981 & 1982 & the patterns stayed consistent in those two rivers.

As I furthered the research, I eventually found a more erratic pattern for Blues, to which I tagged as BC days. I also found that you could catch a good amount of Blues on the YC days, but not so visa-versa. By the end of the summer of 1983, I knew I had the basic outline of what I call the Catfish Calendar. I fished the Trinity for the most part into April 1986. Later in 1986, I & my first wife were separated, then divorced in late 1987. That through a damper into my catfishing & further research on the Calendar, as far as any steady catfishing.

Eventually life veered me back again into Phase 2 of the research, on lakes. You see, I had wondered if it was just rivers or would it apply to lakes as well. So fate chose Lake Limestone & Running Branch Marina as my base for Phase 2. Obviously the people that camped there noticed I danced to a different beat & was consistent in my catfishing. That included even other catfishermen/women. Eventually many of them nicknamed me "Catfish". Sometimes I would fry catfish late at night & invite some here & there over for a bite. I also became a hit on that venue as well. As people knew I went by a catfish calendar, since I spoke of it, they sometimes would ask when or what best to go after. You know something must truly be happening when even the Crappie fishermen/women ask what the calendar says. Of course I had not studied Crappie, yet they tended also to do bad on the ZIP days, as to their catches.

Jeff & James (JS) were my 2 prize Catfish Calendar & YellowCat students. By helping them, I in turn got more data (feedback) on the Calendar, Yellows & Blues, which helped me tweak it even more. Jeff & James (JS) had watched me for about 3 years & finally decided to act upon it in March 2008 with what I shared with them. They had never caught a Yellow before. In less than 30 days, their 4th YellowCat (a unique Grey Op) weighed in at 62.4#. One of the new 2 tips I added to the Calendar Key, comes from their findings & results of the past 5 years (2008-2012), even though Jeff was murdered in September 2011.

Sometimes the pattern of the Yellows as to YC days seems to fade out or be partially there, as to the pattern. Sometimes there seems to be a bigger group of the YC days (more than 3). After all these years, backing up about 2 or 3 years back, I realized that the underlying pattern does not become negated or fade out at brief times. It is that the Calendar shows the strongest of these 4 code key days for that given day, yet the pattern still runs in the background. So by utilizing that data, I now share what I referring to as the Hidden Pattern or the "underlying pattern", to which now I have assigned the name/term "Lynn's Prime YellowCat" Days [either LPYC or PYC]. In the 2014 printed editions/versions, I plan to circle or put a horseshoe around those specific LPYC days. Like a Bullseye target, my suggestion is that the Calendar focus upon the full target, while the Prime YellowCat Days focuses upon the very heart or center.

Now, in my research of Yellows back in the 1980s,. I also discovered that the Gator Gars also seem to be running the same pattern on YC days & the LPYC days. However, I have found that they tend to run just ahead of The Yellows. It may vary, but I am estimating about 3 to 4 hours as an average.

As I speak of these "patterns", I have had to come up with a term that describes it best. I now call it a "roam/feed" circuit/switch. In a sense, it is as if a circuit connects, or a switch is turned on. It could be due to DNA, memory, instinct, pre-programming, or whatnot. But nevertheless, it seems to mimic a circuit or switch. I refer to it as pertaining to "roam/feed", as it seems that they tend to activate some sort of roaming sequence of feeding. In other words, they move about. This is one reason why the results gained by using the calendar have greater stats by using set lines. One big plus, is that set lines can stay out "working" even while the fisherman/women has left. In other words, the set lines can be working 24/7.

However, Rod-n-Reeling also has its ups & downs. Most use sonar or a fish finder to locate fish wherever they are. They look until they find some. In other words, the fishermen/women "roam" to the fish. That is a plus as to R-n-R. But a down side is that most who head out in a boat & R-n-R, tend to do so for their available fishing time, or as the weather permits them to. Therefore they do not have their lines in for the full 24/7 of a full day.

And as you recall, the Calendar, as well as the Prime YellowCat Days are basically covering a full 24 hour day. Those Code Keys are noting the full 24 hours of a day. It does not mean the switch will be cut on for the whole day. It means the switch will be cut on at least once that given day. And chances are, they may be switched on several different times during the day. By having set lines out 24/7, you are taking advantage of the full day & all of the times the switch cuts on. As to how long the switch will be on, that is a good guess.

There are also what I call overlaps, and how to work them to your advantage. That will have to be shared another time. But a few of you to which I have already shared on this (on the side), it seems you are doing great in utilizing overlaps. You are simply learning to tweak the calendar for optimum results.

The Catfish Calendar is geared up for Yellows & Blues, and also Gator Gars. I did not & do not plan to study or research ChannelCats, MudCats (Bullheads), or WhiteCats. Channels do tend to dance to a different beat but have a few overlaps. For me, I have found I catch more Channels on the BFT days. However, one TFF member noted they were having luck on Channels on the ZIP days. I don't know if that is still consistent for them, or not.

I found on BFT days, I tended to catch about anything under the sun, in so much it reminded me of a variety platter or a buffet to where you can get all kinds of food.

As to the ZIP days, on the river, I tended to catch nothing or very little. Some days, if I baited, the lines would be stripped, but nothing to show for all my bait. I have not furthered very much research on the lake, but it seems to be about the same on results. Also, we have found that Crappie also tend to follow the ZIP pattern as well. Most Crappie fisherman/women at RB on Limestone & elsewhere have noted very little catches on ZIP days.


I do want to clarify though, there are factors which can alter the calendar feeding patterns. One is certain kinds of weather. Another is fast falls or rises of water levels, be it river or lakes. And that all catfish (speaking of Yellows & Blues) do not run with the standard or average patterns ingrained. Let me use an illustraion by way of numbers. And realize this is my estimation, not a definite. I compare the Catfish running the calendar patterns as to people's working patterns. For most people, their job covers the standard work day of 7 AM to 5 PM. Yes, there is room for a little variance. The people in this category cover the majority, somewhere ranging from 66% to 75% following the standard routine Then there are those people who work the night shift (around 4 PM to Midnight). And of course, the graveyard shift (running about Nidnight until 8 AM). The people in these two other shifts will probably be roughly estimated as around 25% to 33%.

So in essence, from 2/3rds to 3/4ths, a majority, run what we might call average. The 1/4th to 1/3rd runs a different program which I call rogue. Not in a negative sense, but one that does not adhere to the larger standard. Using this scenario, most abide by the Catfish Calendar, while a minority runs a rogue pattern, or a different calendar.

Some folks will come in with a nice one or even a stringer on a ZIP days. These are not negating the Calendar, just taking advantage of the rogue ones that run contrary to the "norm".

Back in the saddle finally. Even though I started late on Saturday, I still had a 25.25# Op on one of the lines Sunday AM. Planning to try & corral "the Giant" perhaps this weekend. Taking my grandson, as he has been wanting to go.

Well sadly, we got a late start. My grandson (Willan- 10 yrs old) & I did not arrive at RB until 1 AM. We dropped the Porta-Bote off the top of the car. And a few items tossed out & we took a Zzzzz. Did not want to wake the other campers. Darrell had our perch awaiting us in two big bags in an open ice chest on our picnic table. I had called about 8 PM to tell him how much we needed.

We got up after 7 AM & headed out before 8 AM. Winds had calmed down. We headed to the Near Corner to put hooks on the J-swivels on 7 juglines I set out the weekend before so it would be Qwikker. Passed one ski boat & skier. As we got to the jugs & started on the first one, she had dropped near our jugs & it looked like they were waiting on us before starting up again. The guy calls out to me, "Lynn???". I replied by, "Karl???". Yes, it was Karl & his wife Marlene (she was the skier). She joined in the conversation as she was climbing on board. They said they had had been worried about me as they had not seen me since the day after my swimming Thanksgiving Day mishap (falling out of the boat). Karl swam out & helped me get in the boat that T-Day 2011, then they dried me out & warmed me up. Anyway, I told them about the heart issues & that I was about back to 80/85% full capacity.

Then I told them of my Uncle James (Karl met him the day after my "swim") & that now he had most of the same symptoms I had back then (in the past 2 weeks), but less the high blood pressure, so it seemed. He had my Mom take him to the Emergency Room on Monday AM (4-29). He got out Friday AM. HOWEVER, he is headed back in Wednesday AM (5-8) for Quadruple ByPass & several stints (up to 4). He too is only at 20 to 25% pummping capacity like I was. But one artery is completely clogged & the other major 3 are getting there. So if he does not do anything, he could "expire" at any moment. And if the last two weeks have been any precursor, his time would be very soon. So he had to decide what or any as to what would be done. Anyway, Karl & Marlene said to let him know he was in their thoughts. And they headed off to their boat house nearby. After adding hooks & bait, the wind was picking up. Willan got slightly "damp" as we headed back in to the No Wake Zone to bait out the 2 trotlines. It was windy & rough, but manageable. That is one reason I like it at RB, as we can still get out & run set lines in the No Wake Zone regardless of how bad on the main lake.

We sat it out for the day after getting back. We had our breakfast as "lunch", since the Grill had just opened by the time we got back. Then I asked Willan if he wanted to put up my tent, his little tent, or sleep in the car again. He chose the car, but we finally decided to set up my tent. We did not head back out until just before dark, as the wind died down but not quite like Friday night when it just laid down period. Only a few fish on that run & one turtle (we set it free). We got back in just after 11 PM. We headed for Zzzzz-time. Got to remember to bring a pad or another sleeping bag, as that ground was hard. We got up around 6:30 AM to 7 AM (alarm still did not work for some reason). Slight breeze as we left around 7:30 AM. Sure am glad we headed out then. We headed to the jugs before it got too rough at the Near Corner at the bottom of the lake. Caught some Blues. Was rough heading back to the No Wake Zone & then checked & pulled his 2 jugs. Then the trotlines & more Blues & some Channels. One Channel was near 5 pounds. Sadly, no Yellows or "The Giant", not even a "Ha-Ha, Missed you" sign. Oh well, I know the pattern, just could not get down there Friday night as hoped or hang there the one more night as it was a 3 night YC run. As Jeff & James (JS) caught Yellows according to what I taught them & the Catfish Calendar, they always caught their biggest Yellows on the first or the last day of the 3 day YC runs. That is one of the two new added tips of the 2013 Revised KEY.

Anyways, I guess I should be thankful. My second trip since the heart issues. I got to take my grandson who has been want to go for some time. And he is looking forward to that fish fry. However, it will be pizza at CiCi's this Saturday for his 11th Birthday party. He turns 11 on the 9th.

"Big'Un" eluded me for almost 2 years (1983-1985), but I pursued her with patience & the Calendar. And I finally succeeded. "The Giant" has eluded Jeff & James (JS) and James (JW) & I for several years now. I know all of the coordinates for our encounters with "The Giant" (so I know the path it has taken), but the drought & my heart bit just temporarily delayed the game.

We lost 3 Blues this weekend due to not using a dipnet. I showed Willan why it was important to use a dipnet & to get them in it qwik.

Only one mishap, which Willan wants everyone to know about. Somehow Sunday AM when easing back in my seat (the back one on the Porta-Bote) for some reason, I fell back. I think the seat cushion slided back unexptedly. I ended up with me on my back, my butt in between the back seat & end of the boat, with my left arm over the motor. Luckily I stayed in the boat, but his comment was, "You're freaking me out Granddaddy!". Took me a moment or two to get out of that position.

Wow! Time just flies by & we are already into another month. I am happy to report that I finally got into the saddle once again towards the end of April 27th on thru the 19th of May, since my heart & blood pressure problems took me down from T-Day 2011 thru just after New Years 2012. Currently, I would say I am back up to around 80 to 85% full capacity. Because from time to time I feel a few things which tell me I am still not completely back at 100%. But I think 80/85% is a definite improvement from when I was diagnosed with enlarged heart, CHF (Congestive Heart Failure), High Blood Pressure which raised eyes/eyebrows of medical staff, heart flutters (atrial fibrillation if not mistaken, leaky valves, crud building up in lungs, hoarse voice, loss of breath, swollen stomach, and quite a few others, along with pumping capacity down to only 20/25%. Thanks again for prayers, thoughts & encouragements!

Anyways, I had several items on my agenda for a month of weekends of fishing recently.They were--- getting back into the saddle & riding once again (catfishing), seeing what it would do as to my body handling it, and of course seeing if "The Giant" was back in its territory after the drought of 2011. You see, at 10 feet or so low, that either drained its paths of all, or almost all of the water in the path it ran. Normally, they do return, but sometimes they don't. Oh yeah, of course catching some fresh catfish too. And taking my grandson Willan too was on the top of the list. I took him out the weekend before his 11th birthday. Plus I had to see if the used car I got in October would handle the trips to & from the lake. It has a weak automatic transmission, and another fuel or electronic problem. One goal was to stay out of the water in comparison to T-Day 2011's unexpected swim.

Naturally, some plans were alterred & things do not always get anywhere near what you hoped for. Such was the case. But still caught a mess of Cats, including 2 unexpected Ops (yellowCats) the first weekend (25.25# & the last weekend (13.8#). Both were about to burst with their eggs. And we bumped into Karl & Marlene at the Near Corner the 2nd weekend (when Willan with me). That is the family that rescued me from my "swim" back on T-day 2011. They had been worried about me as I had not been seen since the T-Day trip. They were glad I was doing OK.

Another recent event that came into reality, is that my Uncle (my catfishing partner) started experiencing some of the very same symptoms I had had, except the real high blood pressure. He finally went to the emergency room. Over several days, he too was noted at only 20/25% pumping capacity. However, he had to have Quadruple Bypass surgery. He is recovering now.

To cut to the chase from here, I had not received any calls (signs) from "The Giant". That is until the last nmorning, of which I pulled the lines (Sunday 19th). It left me two such signs. I had put a few very large perch (from RB). It bent out a Mustad 6/0 SS hook that was tied to a 4/0 SS crane swivel (to which it has done the first time it hit my line while I was adding hooks & baiting). This was one area of its pathe it has hit before. Another area of the same trotline had a special 12/0 or 13/0 hook (thanks to Ben) that was tied directly to the main line with a hitch knot & a single knot on each side (this was the way Newt taught me as he did not trust swivels & to keep them from sliding on the main line). Well, it takes a very large one to slide them. So I can safely assume "The Giant" also moved this one as it was between two stages (so it moved it 20"). This was also in its pathway.
