2009:
<No link> as I was not yet on the Texas Fishing Forum.
Due to requests from some catfishin' buddies, I started doing a printed catfish calendar (hard copy). My earlier first phase of research was on 3 rivers in the 1980s. I started the 2nd phase concerning lakes at Lake Limestone based at Running Branch Marina in July of 2002.

Included is a 2008 article shared (split into 3 parts) concerning "Lynn's Catfish Calendar", which was in "Central Texas Catfish" magazine May 2008 issue. Only a portion of the later months for 2010 were posted on the TFF as I became a member around mid-year.

*Also came with a Collector's page of 3 articles/pics in 3 separate newspapers concerning "Big 'Un", a big Op over 60 pounds that I fished for 2 years until I finally brought it in, using the YC calendar days.
2011:
Towards the end of the year, Lake Limestone was 10' low during my T-Day set-out & I fell out of my sister's Porta-Bote. Come to find out a little over a month later, as to why that incident may have occurred

2011 also brought out the "mini", which could be bought as many as you wanted, as long as one copy of the regular edition was purchased. It was designed as a cheap pocket edition to carry around to protect the larger collectible. A wall calendar open spread view) was experimented with, but not perfected yet.

Sadly no hard copy was made due to health problems as the New Year began- heart & extreme high blood pressure issues.

Just starting this thread for the 2013 Catfishin' season. Still working on the hard copy layout, which will also include mini 2012 calendars for retrospect, since no hard copy was made. The latter part of 2011 I lost one of the two best catfish calendar & YellowCat students, plus his wife. They were brutally murdered. Then I lost one of my two YellowCat teachers in September 2012. The other had passed on in the late 1980s.

There will be a "mini" & hopefully, we can finally perfect the wall calendar (open spread view).
So far as I know, Adam still has everything in their computer at OfficeMax, to which we can make reprints of past editions. I usually map out the calendar from October thru late December for the following year. I have to compile various information & assemble the patterns. Some of it requires my experiences from the past that must be weighed in. Then I set up the RTF calendars. Next are the Moon phases, then the Basic YC (YellowCat) underlying pattern. From there, I transfer the data into my calendar program. Once that is done, I set up each month with a story & pic(s). That too takes time. At the front of the wirebound calendars are information & updates, along with tips. Once all is assembled & pasted together, certain ones are scanned as a <jpg>. Then Adam at OfficeMax sorts it all out, converts all files to PDF, assembles them in the order required so the calendar is in working order, prints them out, and then binds them. So you can see, it is not a simple process, it takes time, and assembly required. And if there are problems, we have to go back and fix it. The Hard Copy is done only when its done, as I try to make sure everything is correct & errors are taken care of.
I post each month on the TFF the Catfish Calendar for that month. I try to at least post it by the first day or so, sometimes I get delayed. This is a free version.
Another method is by way of regular email. I call it the Catfish Calendar Crew. I send it out a minimum of 4 times a year. Usually a report or updates, plus the Quarterly months. If you wish to be put on the Calendar Crew, then email me your regular E-mail address you wish to receive it at. I send via BCC method (cloaked), but some email systems might reject unless you make sure to receive items from <hlynnh@peoplepc.com>. This allows me to hide everyone on the list, so those who wish to remain private, may do so. The Quarterly calendar (3 months at a time) are in <.rtf> format for WordPad, which basically everyone should be abe to open. This allows you to map out up to 3 months in advance. It too is free.
And of course, the full version is the printed hard copy edition for the year, for those who want to map out the whole year as to their catfishing trips. Usually, I stay pretty close to the costs of what it takes to print them. Same with shipping (mailing) costs. The gas & set-up fees added in, probably cost me more than the printing price of them. Basically, you are mostly reimbursing me for the printing cost. The wall calendar will need to be in a tube to prevent creases, so I do not not have an idea on that extra cost.
And I must say, OfficeMax has been the lowest priced so far. Always friendly, courteous, extremely helpful & reasonable. Adam emailed me & said all Catfish Calendar files 2009-2011 are safe & on their computer. The 2012/2013 will soon be on there as well.
My how time has flown by, as we are almost 2/3rds done with January. I am amazed nobody has commented or asked yet. Sadly, I just have many ongoing projects. The Catfish Calendar is only one of them.
Next up is January 2013.
