I just got this today I hope it meets the industry standards. I bought it with a gift certificate I got for christmas, IS IT ANY GOOD? the reel is a 5500 c3

they're good rods.....just overpriced......esp when ProAnglers are $45.........I see you rigged it up with your "special" 2 hook rig with "Special" knots......

I have that same rod. Its a little on the stiff side and ive had to replace the top eye on it. But its still workin for me

I bought the combo w/ the catmaxx reel and it was 120. My first real cat setup but i love that reel. Haven't had any problems out of it for 2 years now. May need to clean it up sometime though

$50 for the rod. THE KNOTS I USE ARE TOTALLY UNBREAKABLE. I can hang 100 pounds from the hook on the bottom. this is a good knot

Kind of an overkill for that reel I think. They're good for heavy timber flathead fishin, I used to have 2 but sold them. The PA has comparable backbone with a softer tip.
