On a gopro hero 2, i get about 2 hours on a battery. In the summer time I will on the lake 14 hours sometimes in one day. I have gone through all 7 of my batteries. The thing is don't buy your batteries at best buy, get the 3rd market like Wasabi batteries and charger. Wasabi also now makes hero 3 batteries and chargers too. Great deal 2 batteries and a charger for less than best buy charges for 2 battery. Not to mention the wasabi batteries have slightly more juice 1400 mAh vs gopro 1100 mAh

I have a Gopro Hero, and to this point, I have just used the sticky mount that it comes with. I dont completely trust the mounts, especially in cold weather, so I have a life jacket and a leash on it. I mount it on the very front of my yak (facing forward or towards me) ...or between my feet facing me.

Putting it on the very tip of the bow and setting it on time laps will get you some really cool photos at water level.

Before spring, I plan on creating some fixed mounts that will lock in.
