the only weird area i can see that could be an issue is the area north of 147 to where the boat lane enters the timber between jackson hill and the canyons. the lower it gets, the more dangeros that area can be. plenty of humps and random timber if you dont stay in the river This area is super scary!!! As is the flat just north of 147 you best not run that flat cause if you smack one it will destroy your boat they are nasty

Here is what my Navionics shows...there is no way I'll run where it says there is a boating channel.

You MIGHT make it. In the old days one of my partners,--always ran from the 147 - through the Deer Stand..in south end - out north end.. and on to Shirly Creek.

we still run thru deer stand when the lake is at a certain level. Also run thru the canyons all the way to hanks at the right level. from that map it looks to be about right on where the lane is

I've seen Castledeine cut a hard left at the long and short cut intersection and zig zag thru the timber to the back side of the canyons on pad... Pucker factor...

I'm looking at that map, trying to see the tree that blew out 4 rivets out of the side of my tin boat years ago, running the short boat cut out from deer stand. Lake was down a little and the trees were showing and it "looked" clear till I hit it ! Put a lip in the bottom and lost 6 mph instantly. I've run it many times since but stayed over on the south side of the cut.
Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

Almost straight across from Jackson Hill. Across the lake headed north from the Canyons. Basically the point/area between the angelina river and attoyac river

We run from the Canyons straight over to the channel out in front of Deer Stand and usually we go up the Attoyac close to 103. We sometimes head towards Shirley Creek, Stanley is maybe the best looking cove on the lake though.
