Myself and Mike "USMC_GY" headed up to the Guadalupe River and fished both the Canyon Tail-race and Waco Springs areas. The Trout fishing action was very good. We caught 35 Rainbow Trout. Five fish were kept for dinner. Fish were caught on Super Duper lures, Orange Berkley Trout Worms, Jigs, and corn. All fish were caught on ultra light tackle with most being released. Fished from 7am till 2pm. Had lunch at the New Braunfels Jack in the Box! Great way to kick off the week. It don't get any better.


Side Note: Ran into some super nice anglers while fishing. Enjoyed the conversations. Hopefully they will join the TFF!

Winter trout fishing at it's best! Those are some great eating fish. How often does TPW stock em during the winter?

How big we're they on average?

"Gitter": The Parks&Wildlife has been stocking the Guadalupe since Mid December. They stock it every Friday and will continue to do it until the end of this month.

"dang lost it": The Trout this year are small. The average size was between 7 to 9 inches. We did see some nice ones over 10 inches but they would not bite. The only ones we were keeping were the few that swallowed the hook. They made it to the dinner table.

Nice Trout! Was out there a few days ago and got a few small ones. Will try the springs and white water next! They are truly a lot of fun to catch!
