I have not seen Sufix Siege line. Is that a fairly new Mfg. I have been away from fishing for several years.

I tried braided line once when it first came out and didn't like it and have not tried it since. Maybe I should take another look.

If you don't like braid, try Power Pro braid 10#/2lb diameter Aqua Green.

It's very flexible, smooth, and strong.

Not sure how new, I just saw a guide friend with it on his rods a couple years ago & thought I'd give it a try & liked it a bunch. I get it from Ed Phillips at ProAnglertackle.com in a 3 pak.

10# Fireline w/ 8# Seaguar leader is the best 6# line for vertical jigging. About the only thing I use mono for anymore (crappie wise) is my dock rods and spider rig rods.

Due to several recommendations I went by Bass Pro today & bought a spool of Sufix SIEGE 8#. Can't wait to give it a try.

I used to use the mr crappie high vis 8 lb it is strong and I have landed a few 7-8 lb bass on it at Fork. However I found when the water is clear and the bite is tough if I use a 6 or 8 lb flurocarbon i can get a few more bites. now for the most part I run 10 lb power pro with a 8 lb fluro leader. the best part is no line twist with the braid and you can use it for over a year.

I've seen people fishing that heavy braid not catching near the amount of fish, or none at all, as the people they are sharing the boat with. We run exclusively 6lb Hi-Vis Viscous on all our crappie rigs, and have had absolutely no problems with it. We also use 6lb hi-vis Mr Crappie line, and I have no complaints. I actually credit that Mr Crappie line with some very, very impressive abrasion resistance, especially around docks.
