I like the seagar red for cranks and jerkbaits, and invisx for the jigs and rigs, i have also used sunline and it performed well also. Vicious i just did not like the performance of and one I would like to try that I hear good things about is Yozuri Fluoro.

I've been using Vanish for a long time and never had a problem, then again I haven't caught many 8lb or more fish.

Have heard shooter was very good also. I think quite a few pros are using InvizX and Shooter. Do not use Vanish unless you want your fish to vanish!

Use Vanish and your lures can vanish while youre making a cast. Vanish is worse than useless.

Sunline Shooter is at the top of my list of quality fluorocarbon lines for baitcasting gear. HOWEVER, it is expensive. InvizX is about as good as it gets in terms of a balance of cost and quality. Silverthread Fluorocarbon is often overlooked. This is a shame as it is an excellent fluorocarbon at a budget price. The problem with Silverthread Fluorocarbon is that it is not easy to find a tackle shop, etc. that carries it.

Gamma is the best I've used but" for the money "I'd say that would depend on a lot of things since best wasn't considered the main factor

Best for the money...1200 yard spool of InvisX. Still pricey at around $120, but you are getting far more use out of the line when you consider the yardage and waste ratio.

2 things.

More cost effective. With the smaller diameter of braid, you can get 100 yrds or more on the spool over half a spool of mono. Then after the end that's in the sun starts to fade, tie it to the mono backing on another reel and spool it back up.

More important, braid will slip on a bare spool no matter what knot you tie. You need at least a base layer of mono or you'll swear something is wrong with your drag.

And on the OP, Sunline all the way.
