Go pick up the okuma stinson 30, and just see how it feels and I promise u will love it when u pick it up, very smooth and balance reel for a spincast

I have been using the Daiwa Excellor spinning reels for years now and they have held up great. For the money ($79), they are the best reels I have found on the market. The drag systems are pretty darn good as well. I have landed numerous 5+ lb smallmouth with them and largemouth up to 8lbs. And NO, I am not sponsored by them.

I really rarely use them but get any cheap one the new EXO I have cost 200 dollars and is a piece of junk the 30-50 dollar ones I have are much better.

IMO spinning reels can be something you can be cheap with. Since you don't wear the reel by casting there's less to go wrong. Expensive spinning reels still twist line too.

I'd suggest a nice graphite framed one, but I actually use pflueger Patriarchs...
