Everyone seems to miss a vital point. The fish are raised and released to be caught. It's all we have here in hot old Texas so we make the best of it. It's actually a pretty cool program to let people have a "taste" of the trouting experience. Why, even the yankees can break out their flyrods and hand-ties and go at it. Those 9" pink and flabby stockers fight very hard. I can't hardly imagine catching a 2 or 3 pounder.

I have seen times when a fly on a fly rod were tearing 'em up.Like every other cast. The damn constant swooshing noise was almost as irritating as their attitudes.

i have caught both in broken bow. LOTS of those trout have been there a while.

Yea, I use a brine with kosher salt, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. Smoked with pecan wood and some rosemary wood I got from digging up an old rosemary bush. It came out AWESOME!

Thinking to go with my son this week to south lake in Denton for trout fishing. Anyone knows on what day they stock the trout? The schedule says they stock trout every other week and I believe next stocking is this week.

Fished Huaco Springs; limited out on Scrappy Stockers. Even "slipped" and got a dunking while wading. Glad the temps were not cold! Brought Powerbait but ended up catching them all on fishing flies! Today's Video.

Rainbow power bait was working good last week.

Haven't been on this site in forever. Just getting back to fishing after a few months.
I tried for trout at Tom Bass I last week and didn't get a bite. Any advice or tips for Tom Bass park in pearland?

I tried for trout at Tom Bass I last week and didn't get a bite. Any advice or tips for Tom Bass park in pearland? We were there earlier this week and we didn't get any bites either. They are supposed to be stocking it tomorrow so if it isn't too rainy, I'm planning to check it out after work. Otherwise, will try on Saturday. That pond has gotten really shallow and I have found it hard to fish the last couple of times we've been. Hope things improve. Also - the big pond/lake at Tom Bass 3 is supposed to get stocked next week with around 2000. Looking forward to trying that one as well.
