Not worried about getting a ticket. My fishing license & canoe registration is up to date. All keeper crappie is at least 10 1/2". My PFD is in my canoe within reach if not worn.
Went to wallly world to get my TM battery checked out since it seem not to hold a charge. Got there & saw that it has an 18 months free replacement. Ended up getting a replacement, but not exactly the same battery. Mine was the EverStart MAXX-29 with 125 amp hours & came with the 18 months free replacement & all they had was the EverStart DC29 with 122 amp hours & come with only 12 months free replacement. Since this was the 2nd wally world we went to, I decided to go ahead & take it but still feel like I got the a raw deal??? At least I didn't have to pay for it I guess is the bright side.

Looks like both batteries have a 12 month warranty now. They have the Maxx at the wallyworld here in Azle according to the website.

Very nice REN! When you fill up your freezer it might be time for CPR trips or a TFF fish fry I might fish over there this afternoon before the Cowboys game.

@Strangler - The the wally world in north richland hills seem to be strict with battery purchases now. They even have a posted sign that says "no refunds or exchanges on batteries. All sales are final". I find that weird. Hope it's just that wally world that's doing that. @GB - Even though my freezer is full, I still have my parents' & brothers' freezers to fill up Went to the sssl to test out the new TM battery & it works like a champ I'm no longer the slowest one on the water. Even bumped into Paddling Oar. Thought about giving him another hug, but decided against it coz he might like it too much if you know what I mean Temp was cold & water felt colder with some ice on it. Day started super slow for me. Only caught 1 keeper at spot #1. Jig/Bobber wasn't working nor was vertical jigging. Spot #2 & #3 proved to be fruitless as well. Motored up the creek working fallen timber & BP's as I went along. Then came upon a bunch of log jams that I was able to wedge my canoe into. There was an opening no bigger than 3ft X 5ft. Dropped my jig down to attempt vertical jigging. No takers. Then jig/bobber with jig 2ft under bobber. You guessed it. They wanted it suspended shallow right in front of them. Below is the result. 16 keepers

Was able to make it out last Tuesday to the SSL. Temp was about 25 degrees when I hit the water & the water was still murky. Being Tuesday, thought there won't be many boats there. Got to the "hole" and you guessed it, at least 5 boats were there already! Motored up the creek to my usual spots catching only 1 keeper. Came up to some fallen branches in the water that was about maybe 3ft & BAM! Caught about 9 keepers from that spot. On the way out, I stopped by m 1st spot & caught 2 more keepers. Ended the day with 12 crappie & 2 sandies. Had to head into work, otherwise would have stayed longer & caught more.

Since I fell back asleep & missed the Texoma open invite Saturday, I decided to hit the creek this morning. Had to get my fishing fix, was having withdrawals. Got on the water by 8:30ish & off by 2:30ish. Ran into Team Heineken at the "hole" & later he came up the creek & fished with me for a bit. He hooked into I believe to be his 1st crappie from the creek & it was a nice keeper. He now knows one of my spots The creek was pretty much slow today from speaking to other fishermen there. I managed a mixed bag & oddly enough 50/50 of each species.

Thanks! Forgot to mention that my TM hit a stump as I as approaching the boat & my motor mount broke. Luckily I was holding on to the TM handle. Otherwise, it woulda fell in the creek. Will be going to Home Depot for a 2x4 to fabricate another motor mount.
