I am not trying to start a HB/Low fight. I currently have Lowrance and thinking about going all HB. IT may be me but I find that the Lowrance is harder to navigate around than the HB
Please keep it clean and good suggestions

Mark what model is your graph, I have 898 on my console I love it when I have the lakemaster chip in it where I can offset my lake levels.

I've always had Lowrance but with my new boat it came with HB. So, I've had recent experience with both and really don't have a dog in the fight on the difference that so many people get fired up about. My .02 is that the HB is a little easier to get around because you just keep hitting the same button to go to different screen options where on the Lowrance you have to select from a few different spots to get the combo on the screen you want. But that's just not a huge deal. The other difference and to me it's big is the Lowrance seemed to have MUCH better images despite being a little harder to work with.
So for me, I'm about to sell my 998 and get a new Lowrance Touch because I will get the better images along with some of the new easier processes they designed on it. However, I will be leaving my smaller HB on the front deck because I'm note really as concerned about the images up there.

I'm the opposite, one of my buds has a bird in his boat and i can't stand the menu layout.
I want to rip it off and chink it in the lake everytime i try and use his.
So if you are as used to the lowrance menu's as i am, i'd do alot of playing around to make sure you think they'll be better before you change.
seems like a silly reason to change anyway, either one once you get used to the menu's would be fine,
I can switch around what i want to do really fast on my lowrance's. just get good with either one and it wont matter.
If you wanted the image of the bird instead, that might be a reason to switch, if you thought it was better...
but menu's??

I also find hummers to be easier to navagate on the buttons, clarity, and ease of finding things I want to find. Love lowrance, but my first and only choice is the hummer, have two 998s linked, love them

Lowrance seems pretty simple to navigate IMO.
I don't think birds have quite as good of SI/DI clarity as Lowrance IMO.
I don't like the rectangular look of birds.
I don't like the Switchfire sonar.

I've always been a HB guy, and just ordered an 1198 for my new boat. But, I have to say that the sonar on the Lowrance that is currently on my boat is really nice! I almost made the switch to Lowrance for the console. I'm going to keep the Lowrance on the bow.

Please keep it clean and good suggestions I've had both. Currently have Lowrance. I like the HB better. After you have a Lowrance for a few years and have a problem; they will give you $50.00 off a new one when you call but will not fix the old one or give you any technical help with it. That made my mind up when I called with a question....
