Someone at the pier was talking about this thread. He said the fish were all caught on the Louisiana side but still over legal limits.
That is a huge waste for generations to come.

Hey, Galveston340, can you hook me up with your fishing friend? I went to Galveston with my buddy and caught a few small trouts and no flounder. If your buddy is a pro guide, what's his rate? that is surely not a guide. they wouldnt give up their livelihood for something stupid like that

That is a huge waste for generations to come. It sounds like LA has a huge bag limit on flounder? Just out of curiosity, is it anywhere near the number killed here? Just wondering if its possible the angler killed them by accident?

....did a little further research from the the guy that sent me the pic with all those flatties. They were valid holders of a La. Commercial license.

If they were caught legally it is not up to me to judge.
Eventually everyone gets judged legal or not.
I am betting they were delicious whatever else they were.

I don't care where these were caught. This is just irresponsible, and a huge waste.

If the guy is legal and it sounds like he has a commercial fishermans liscense he is doing his job in a legal way to feed his family.
Which one of us wants someone else to judge us doing the same thing from some organization or person that we do not agree with.
It's still America.

Sounds like a lot of jealious people on here if you ask me... As long as they didn't feed the crabs with'em and were legal????? The other are just mad they can't catch fish like that.
I get the same thing G340...
Just a good day on the water!!

Legal or not legal it's still sad to see that many flattys get taken out. They're pretty rare around my parts, we've caught maybe 10 in the past few years.

Legal or not legal it's still sad to see that many flattys get taken out. They're pretty rare around my parts, we've caught maybe 10 in the past few years. ....as I stated previously those were La fish...and once again there were a bunch of guys fishing.
BUT, on a local note that has to do with the Galveston Bay areas. Was out just a few days ago and what I thought were trout busting bait off of the corner of my eye turned out to be Flounder. What was the give away was when I saw the white side show up as they were coming out of the water. We were fishing for trout on a drain over on the East End past Hanna's.
