My experience is when you find them bunched up on the top of the brush like that, they are feeding and very catchable.

I think I made the picture a little too bright of the crane. On the right side of the crane there is a school of crappie at the base of the tree. The tree is standing straight up and casts a shadow. The big bright spot in the middle is an old tank damn, its 6.9 feet deep on top of the damn and the crane is setting in 15 FOW. You know it is going to be a slow bite when you can see the crappie with their bellies burred in the mud. I think the air pressure gets to them when they act this way.

Very nice. What are your SI setting in? If you are referring to my images, the SI color is Brown, the screen scroll speed is the 4, the Enhance Sharpness is Low and the rest are Default settings except for the SI Range and Sensitivity. I change the Sensitivity setting a lot based on the SI color, water depth and bottom hardness, so I don't pay any attention to that setting number-just the way the images look. It may have been 8 this time.

I would imagine it sitting next to some cole slaw and hush puppies.

Ok...my turn. Here are some screen shots that I made with my HDS-5 or HDS-8 This is a bamboo pile with a few fish in it. A submerged bridge with old BPs to the side. You can see the guard rail on the bridge. Bridge columns with a BP on one. Bridge Columns with a school of crappie. If there is an image that should sell you on downscan...this is it. Look at the standard sonar image, do you see the crappie on top of the BP? Then look at the downscan. Yes it's worth every penny!! More Crappie. That's enough to make ya drop a marker... Oh the detail you can see...Look at the sonar. I have wondered for years what that was. Now on downscan I see it is a log jam that someone has dropped two Xmas trees on. The one standing on left and the one that has fallen over in the middle of the pic inside the logs. Sometimes sonar can fool ya. Look at the sonar...I would have thought..Wow...thats loaded. Now look at the downscan...time to move on to another pile nobody's home. And here's what it's all about. Hope you have enjoyed the show... CrappieKyle OUT look closely at the second to last picture.(the blue one) scroll over it with the mouse hold ctrl button while you turn the mouse wheel forward and zoom in on the pic. that pile is loaded with fish. they are holding tight to the structure. I can see thier eyes and orientation. that is the greatness of being able to copy the images onto a large high resolution screen when u get home. you see alot more stuff you miss on the water. great picks Kyle.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
