you cant compare the carp from the UK to the ones over here. like steve said over there thats all they eat is boilies that are hnv, here you can catch them on method and a glass bead any time of year. lol
some say its best to bait little, some say its best to bait alot. me i tend to bait up heavy and it usually rewards me with a big fish. other times iv just showed up and caught with out baiting up.

Buffalo have 1/4 inch more fat then carp, so they like the colder water better. Carp will bury themselfs in sand durring the cold seasons. Learn something new every day. Why would I have to prove something to u? This is why the carp fishing section of the TFF can't have nice things... SMH Carpstudies, you don't have to prove a thing to anybody. The only problem with that is that a lot of folks here have dedicated a lot of time learning about carp and how to best catch them. We can be a cynical lot, but most are open to new ideas that can be supported. Credibility becomes an issue otherwise..

Have you ever used cut Carp or Buffalo as bait for Big Blue Cats? Well Buffalo have about 1/4 inch more of fat, plus they have more mucus coating. Warm all over. Name for me all the fish species that bite more in winter months. That get more active, and why do these species get more active?

Stripers, hybrids,Crappie, smallmouth bass, walleye, pike, Muskie and blue cats and buffalo! I think these fish are easier to catch in dead winter becouse the shad die off and the fish actually have to hunt for food. At tawakoni in feb if u find a small school of shad, u most likely are about to catch a 30 lb blue cat. Also big blues are commonly caught in 2 to 4 ft of water in the winter becouse they are lying in the mud to stay warm. In my opinion if carp buried up in mud in winter then u would see them in shallow water in the winter which definitely isn't the case! The real reason buffs are more active than carp in winter is becouse they eat shad as a primary part of there diet and carp do not. Think about it, a carps whole world slows down in winter, 90 percent of what they eat really dissapates in the winter! All the veggitation is gone, no algae or moss which hold zoo plankton. A carps whole food chain diminishes in the winter.

Those r northern fish, well most of what you listed. Texas is in the south. Carp eat shad as well. The biggest Iv seen caught have been on shad on trotlines. 60+ pounds. They run with big blues.
