The KVD launcher rod and Quantum Tour edition 6:3.1 reel is my favorite trap setup. You can flat out bomb'em a long ways. Hope this helps.

This sounds like an awesome set-up.

Thanks for all the input. I already had a 7'-6" Duckett cranking rod and had it rigged with a 5:4 reel with light mono for deep cranks. So what the "wife" got me was a Buccoo Trap Caster and was also able to get a couple lightly used 7:1 MGX's from a fellow TFF'er. She said that I still needed to pick out one more rod. Not being one to argue, I, I mean she, ordered a St Croix Legend Xtreme 7'-4" Heavy action rod since I have my trap set up covered.

I am really stoked about the Legend Xtreme and MGX's...It should be an awesome Christmas. Just not sure what this will really cost me in the long run...lol.

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions as I have only been back to bass fishing since September and all of you have definitely sped up my learning curve. Again a big thanks to my fellow TFF'ers.

How do you like the MGX?? and the trapcaster?? I just got a MGX and love it... casts a mile... I have 2 trapcasters and they are awesome too...

Also work great on pretty much any crankbait spinner bait and buzzbait..
