I am just going to post the update from Facebook. Please wait till he is out of ICU at the soonest before you call or go by....

Richard Gill is out and in ICU. He got out of surgery around 2:30 the first time and the 2nd time around 5ish. Family was able to go back and see him around 5:30, but they shut down ICU from 6-7:30. He is being kept out for the night. He is at UT Southwest in Dallas. He will be in ICU for 3ish days depending on how he does and after that another 6-7 days more before being released. The Dr's said 8
5 or so % of people do not make it to the hospital with what he had, so it is a big blessing he made it. As far as visitors.. please wat till he is out of ICU at the soonest. He will not be very active and needing to recover for a bit so he might not be up for much company. I will be passing on all the well wishes and thoughts, and I am sure he will be on reading Facebook and the fishing forums before long. Any other questions or information please contact me and I will reply and or pass on information. Once a room number is known I will send that out as well. Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers, the family is very thankful.

Not known by many (any) on here, but Richard is my cousin. I will put updates on here as much as I can. If you have facebook you can look me up on there and I wil have updates more often. ScottABA and Joe Bake will also have updates as I am updating them via phone as well. If anyone has questions or would like more information please feel free to contact me over a PM.

Update for everyone.... Richard is about to go back into surgery. There was concern expressed yesterday by the staff about the possible need to go back in due to clots, they are doing this from what I understand as a pre-emptive so clots can be cought prior to becoming a big problem or stroke. Keep the prayers coming. I will post another update once more is known. I am about to head down to the hospital, and will have my laptop this time.

Richard is back out and getting settled in ICU again. Waiting on the Dr to come brief us.

Thank you for the updates...it's tough when a family member or good friend is stricken like this....

Keeping Richard & his family in my prayers.

It went well, the issues with blood flow to his kidney and legs have been corrected. Heart looks good, no signs of damage or a heart attack. Checing for signs for a stroke to make proper treatment decision now and not waiting any longer.

Thanks for the updates Jon. More prayers sent for Richard and your family. Let me know if I can do anything at all to help in any way needed.

Drew have you talked to Krista? If not I sent you a pm with my number call me and I will fill you in. I tried to get in touch with you yesterday but no number and Richard's phone was dead.

Just got back from the CT scan. The scan showed a stroke, there is a different specilist coming in to look into what, how bad, what the next plan is. Keep the prayers coming.

The good and the bad... The ft showed a serious stroke, but the timing is very reduced being monitored and it was a high probability of happening with the procedure on Tuesday. They are on it. The better news is he has now moved his left arm and leg when he heard family in the room. He might get moved to a a different building more suited for stroke care and.recovery. I'll update after some sleep and more info comes in. Joe, Scott and drew feel free to call and wake me for more detailed info if y'all need to get more, if not I'll send out when I wake.
