I haven't caught any over about 12 lbs and most have been in 5-8 lb range but I snagged 3 of the Cabelas King Kat Baitffed Combos when they ran them on sale for $24.99 last year ,spooled them with 25 lb Big Game mono, bought 3 used alarms transmitter and pager from a TFF'r and rigged up two bank buddies........

3.25TC Daiwa Mad Dragons Okuma CD-50 Baitrunners 50lb Powerpro 20lb Spiderwire EZ Braid hooklink (junk! Don't use)
On my last camping trip I hooked up with three fish I could not stop at a big fish lake. One bent my hook after a 70 yard run and cranking my drag down, one broke the junk hook link above (tested after at 7lb breaking strain!) and the third ran me into a snag after a 50 yard run we could not get out even using the boat and I was afraid to put too much pressure initially after the first two incidents.
Bottom line to me is end tackle is also critically important, maybe more so than rod or reel depending on how far out you need to fish.
PB Buff - 56lbs PB Common - 26lbs PB Mirror - 7lbs PB Grasser - 45lbs PB Koi - 10lbs
