What Skeet said. Don't get an imitation. Something about the LTF.

I've never fished a LFT spoon...I'm sure they will catch a few sandies but for BIG large mouth type bass ya gonna need the real thing...a BIG Joe's Spoon...also at LFM.My favorite ones are the 7in with the chartreuse stripe for sunny day's,gold with red stripe for cloudy days or stop at the Tackle Factory and get a few custom painted by Joe himself. If ya need more info, check out Kelly Jordan's video on youtube about Joe's spoons.I like 20lb Big Game but 20 lb InvisX should also be good.I make long cast and let it fall on slack line.Don't set the hook until you feel the fish load up.They will slap at it sometimes before they actually take it.In the Fall/Winter I fish it more like a worm...just drag it,Summertime I hop it.It's my favorite lure for Fork. One more thing...It is a long, heavy lure(1.5oz)so it's kinda easy for them to shake loose.

They are all good....and to add to the list of great spoons.....the Nichol's spoons are equally impressive. Around Lake Fork....availability makes your spoon choice for you if you aren't stocked up on a preferred brand. As Stax mentioned, a swivel is a must.

Bass Pro's nitro spoon aint bad, LFT is definitely better, but the only thing I'd do to a nitro spoon is replace the treble with a bigger/stronger treble and but a ball bearing swivel on it.

Just gota love that THUMP! The spoon works when they won't bite anything else! I sometimes put two of them together for a faster fall.

Is it not true that the LFT, Talon, and Nichols are all based off the same "Joes" spoon blank? with maybe different colors. I have been using a talon spoon that is shorter and heavier, that i like.
Does anyone notice a big difference with differentn colors? some almost look identical in the water because they all have silver backs.

Im a big fan of the 7" LFT spoon as well. First one I fished, so I decided to purchase those. Confidence was established early on those big fat spoons.

Hint : Always keep slight amount of slack on the line that allows the spoon to turn on its side and flutter.

Keep an eye on the hooks for sharpness , I replaced mine and hook up was greatly improved. Drag it slow then hop it .
