Yesterday on another forum, Some tips on tying the hair rig was posted and it had a couple of nice new applications like how to use it on a helicopter rig, and modifying it into an instant blowback rig.
Do you prefer your Hair Rigs with mono or Braid?

Saw that yesterday. No surprise there. We pretty well had them figured out. Both of them. Unlike the intricate hair rig, this was fairly easy to wrap up....

I tied one with mono the other day because i forgot my braid. It seemed to do the job ok as far as looks. Didnt get a run on that rod though, so not sure about success rates.

I have never tried mono. I like the braid over the mono that may curl.

Mono hair rigs are great for carp, especially if they are short like 4" or less
Bowfishing sucks

I have always been open about owning one from the beginning. I have no need to lie here. Matter of fact I have stated in this sect that its for small fish cause there is no sport in shooting a large target. I have never shot at a fish over 4-5 lbs without it being a gar. Like I said I have posted it before. I haven't used it in over 2 yrs that's why I would sell it lol

never tried using mono b4, just figured the stretch after landing a decent fish would interfere with the function, being all bent out of shape and all lol

The silicone tubing isn't necessary but it can help. How to tie a hair rig http://youtu.be/4ABlZ8F6nmoTo get the bait on the hook, you can buy a baiting needle or you can straighten a panfish hook. From there you can put a small grass stem in the loop to keep the bait on OR you can get some security bead zip ties

So the hook isn't touching the bait?
